I agree, I'm not sure how we could adequately pic this.
Is it great? Hell no.
Is it worth pulling? Also hell no.
It looks like a Game Over screen but upon further inspection, it's pretty clear it's a bit off. That's about as good an in-game representation as we could ask for, without a webcomic or something hanging a lampshade.

It's better than nothing.
Even though it's a spoonerism, there's no tell that the game carries on after that point.
And even if it's clear that it's off, that doesn't mean we can tell that the game carries on aftr that point.

Part of my issue with it is that I can't make out a lot of the small white text...is any of that indicative that there's something more about to happen? If not, then we should look for something beyond the Trope Namer that makes it more clear.
Image aside, the caption is also irreverent and solely dependent on Chip Cheezum's joke.

Oddly enough, even though we don't allow animated images here, a gif of the ongoing action inside the picture-in-picture game over screen might just have avoided this problem, coupled with a caption along the lines of... "He's NOT Dead, Jim!"
like a 5 second gif made from this. Bad Quality I know

It's tough to do this, the MGS2 examples aren't going to fly at all so we'd need to look at the other examples and see if they exemplify it better.

That caption is awful and should go.
The pic is... not great. But acceptable until we find something better.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight! And if that fails, someones gonna have to make their own.
As far as the Caption goes, maybe we should go with "Wait a minute..."
It's better than that current quote but it's equally as uninformative.
Well, since we're dealing with a spoonerism of a trope name, perhaps "He's Alive, Jim!".

Clock is set. At the very least, I'd be alright with culling the caption.
Clock's up; locking for inactivity/lack of consensus. No action is to be taken based on this thread.
The screenshot would only make sense to those who know about the feature in Metal Gear Solid 2, even though it has "Fission Mailed" on it.
Not to mention most of the text being too small to read and kinda blurry (even if it wasn't, it would be a Wall of Text, which is discouraged here), and one can barely make out Raven fainted on the ground (you can see the soldiers there).
This trope seems difficult to demonstrate in just a single image.
