Anyone here played Magical Drop V?:

I'm a big fan of the Magical Drop series and similar games. They're fun and I can play them without thinking too much. I noticed recently that a Magical Drop game was on steam. So hey, that's neat!

I was wondering though, how, actually, is it? Compared to, say, MD 3 on the arcade? Is there anything flagrantly broken about it? I'm not looking for a game that reinvents the wheel or anything, but if I like Magical Drop, is there any good reason NOT to grab it?

I haven't played it, but I originally wanted to buy it until I looked at its Steam Community and found reports of game-crashing bugs and general shoddiness while the developer just kept saying "we're working on it" for months with no patch. I think that's a massive red flag and a sure sign of a Porting Disaster.

That's too bad. I loved Magical Drop 2 and 3.

Does anyone know if the full (read, Japanese) versions were ported on any Data East compilations.

I haven't played it, but I did see a livestream of it.

It was... very awkward looking.

The system doesn't know you right now, so no post button for you.
You need to Get Known to get one of those.
