Do you have a smartphone? I know the app SoundHound allows you to do that (though its accuracy varies to a weird degree; still worth a shot, though).
Otherwise, maybe try recording your humming of it with Vocaroo and posting that here (or on You Know That Show, where these sorts of questions are supposed to go) to see if anyone recognizes it.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.

Huh, someone really did think about it. But by now I can only remember the "chi|snare chi|snare chi|snare chi|snare". I'm hard pressed to imagine how I'd hum that.

Let me explain: I some times have this auditory hallucinations, I guess, when I am tired - I hear faint sound of something I heard sometime before (not the "song stuck in my head" hear, literally hear). It's too faint to make out words, usually, only melody. And google, unfortunately, doesnot have an option to humm a melody in microphone and search for it (Here, catch, google). So after a 40 km march in full gear (exhausting!) I had this song - kind of Ear Worm, which only defining trait I could make out that the background was "chi chi chi chi" each of "chi" doubled with a snare drum hit. I need to know what it is!
