Why isn't there a thread for this film already? (Or is there?) I just saw it in a theater in Brussels two weeks ago and liked it a lot. It's entertaining, but harsh as befits a Coen brothers movie.

Yeah, I've seen it twice myself. I highly recommend it. Thematically, I'd put it in a similar category to A Serious Man, a low-key (yet very atmospheric) absurdist dark comedy which happens to be set in The '60s, and a typical Coenite Chew Toy protagonist. On the whole, I'd say it's one of my favourite Coen Brothers movies so far, although that might have something to do with my partiality towards sixties folk music.

I think part of the reason for the delayed reaction is that it only comes out in the U.S. in late December, and in late January in the U.K. Mainland Europe seems to have gotten an earlier release.
