Needs Help: Legal Jailbait

I kind of feel that way as well, but if people are saying that the last panel implies that the only thing standing between Stahl and Nowi is jail, we're going to want to avoid something like #9.

What do you think about axing the last panel? I'm reluctant to do so because it does have humor value, but we have to put clarity before humor.

This thread is kind of making me sad... I mean... I liked Nowi as a character. I felt like if I let the creepiness scare me away from using her as unit, I might miss some Crowning Moments Of Heartwarming... And the more people point out the creepy bits, the more I am reminded of them, the harder it is to focus on what I liked about the character... Dammit, animu, stop doing this to us this already.

Caption suggestion for post 23, with just the first two panels: She's technically old enough, but all I can think about is my little sister.

I'm trying to keep the creepiness of the trope, add a punchline to replace the last panel, and avoid condoning the trope.

I much prefer the two-panel version myself, but I have to admit that the three-panel version makes it very clear that she's generally freaking people out. If that's the version that makes Eddie happy, then I'm not gonna fuss about it.

Axing the last panel could possibly help.

Personally, I would axe just the middle one. I think the first and last panel gets the point across well enough.

I think the two-panel version works fine; the guy's body language makes it pretty clear that the general idea of being in a relationship with someone who looks so young freaks him out. He's not just refusing the relationship due to mitigating factors, but he's actively cringing at the suggestion, which implies (to me at least), that even without the threat of jail time he's still really uncomfortable with the idea.

At the very least, I think it's pretty clear that he's not interested in a relationship, jail time or no.

I think two panels is enough for above reasons.

I think so, too, but Eddie doesn't. The fact that he let this discussion go on so long implies that he's considering the suggestions, which I have to thank him for. I've acted pretty resentful to him in the past... and in the present, too, really, but I think we all know that his motives are pure, and not just in the Well-Intentioned Extremist sense.

Beggars can't be choosers; we have to go with whatever Eddie wants.

The two panel one is a good illustration, but I don't know if it'll stay that long. Send it to the P5.

Again: It's fine. We can call in the other P5 guys if you want, but I would be very surprised if they had a problem with it.

P5 or not, Eddie's the one that has the objections to the 2-panel version and it's him we have to satisfy. I've asked him about 23; if he s it then this is gonna have to go away.

I still prefer 9, the two-panel version.
