Much like the confusion some time ago, when the kappa were trying to advertise and a certain magician was practising giant dolls, people have reported seeing what appears to be a towering building on the horizon... could the influx of new religions and beliefs be affecting the stability of the Border? Is Gensokyo threatening to merge with modern Japan—and, in fact, the heart of Tokyo—once and for all?

Or is something else behind this^? Yes, obviously. Otherwise no danmaku silliness.

RULES

• Three characters MAX, only two canon.
• Only one character who can break things at a whim. Whilst this might seem 'one EX-BOSS', it's more to do with not having Timestop Maid, Destroy Anything, and Detach From Reality (Sakuya, Flan, Reimu) all controlled by one person.
• Mokou and Alice are reserved, deal with it.
• Marisa/Alice is the only acceptable use for those two. >.>

• Name: Kirisame Marisa
• Age: 16
• Appearance: "I wonder if they'd see me steal that..."◊
• Species: Human
• Abilities: Marisa can fly and fire danmaku. She's also a competent thief, and carries around what's known as the mini-hakkero for doing magic.
• Personality: Kirisame Marisa is a frequent liar and kleptomaniac. She'll steal anything that looks interesting or useful, provided it's not nailed down, and she'll even steal abilities from people she's met. She's also nearly always cheerful, always interested in a fight, friendly or otherwise, and an incredibly hard worker. To master the magic she has, she needed to train for a very long time. It's likely that most of her life was spent doing so. Marisa is also very proud of being the "Second best in Gensokyo" to Reimu, as well as being a good thief. She also gets a kick out of messing with people in various ways.
• History: Marisa left her family and trained in magic, becoming a skilled incident resolver who participated in several incidents.

• Name: Yuu Kotarou
• Age: 13
• Appearance:...You... Die!
• Species: Human
• Abilities: Super Strength, Hand-to-Hand combat, and the Orge Arms- a massively oversized gauntlets that fires explosive munitions from each fingers. Prehensile tail. (?)
• Personality: A timid, stoic girl with an imouto type personality^note Shy, awkward, endears either protectiveness or teasing.. Surprisingly, possess an almost Blood Knight tendency as regards combat.
• History: Having finished training with a certain hermit, Yuu travels the world to face different fighters, funding her expeditions by doing oddjobs here and there.
• Spellcards: Nope.

OC first I guess. Used this one before and liked the idea, so... Yeah.

• Name: Maria Shepard
• Age: 17
• Appearance: Something like this.
• Species: Human
• Abilities: Maria possesses the power to heal wounds, as well as a thorough knowledge of exorcism rites. Like all Gensokians, she possesses the ability to fly, and although she is a pacifist she is surprisingly good with danmaku, enough that her claims to being Reimu's chief rival could actually be justified. She possesses several spellcards, although as she barely ever uses them only some of their names are known^* for the curious, her spellcard names include such things as Rites of Exorcism "Kyrie Eleison", Rejuvenation Sign "Auxilium Meum A Domino" and Angelic Salutation "Ave Maria".
• Personality: Maria comes off as more serious minded than some of the others in Gensokyo, and is rather more serious about her religion than either of the mikos. She's not entirely trusting of youkai, but is willing to accept them should they prove to be goodhearted people. A pacifist by nature, she doesn't really get involved much in incidents, and generally frowns upon violence. Somehow, she sees herself as Reimu's chief rival, despite the shrine maiden barely being aware of her existence. Despite this insistance, she's generally a lot more peaceful than most Gensokians, and is mostly concerned with taking care of the small Christian population of Gensokyo. However, if need be she is perfectly capable of fighting off any wolves that would threaten her flock. Despite her serious nature, she is surprisingly easy to fluster and does not react well to anyone teasing or flirting with her.
• History: A nun from Gensokyo, and head of the local Christian community. Of course, as the Christian population of Gensokyo is abysmally low, she never really has much to do, and so mustly spends her time going door to door trying to spread the word of the Lord (not with much success, admittedly). Still, she's a hard worker who tries her best to tend to her flock, even if she's starting to feel a little uneasy about the ever-increasing competition.

• Name: Hata no Kokoro
• Age: Relatively young, for a youkai.
• Appearance: Will you watch my performance?◊
• Species: Menreiki youkai.
• Abilities:
  • More an ability of the Masks themselves, but each Mask holds a powerful emotion capable of affecting those in the vicinity, if Kokoro chooses to do so. Even when separated from her, these Masks can affect others.
  • Is a very skilled Noh performer.
  • Is seemingly capable of producing a pair of fans from nowhere. As well as a naginata.
  • Most uniquely of all, flight.
• Personality: A quiet and child-like youkai with a great love for Noh plays. She has difficulty expressing emotions without the use of her masks, though she's gotten much better about it recently. So even if she were to lose a mask again, it won't immediately cause another Incident. Just don't expect her to wait patiently for its return, however. She also seems to have some sort of grudge against Koishi.
• Backstory:
  • Ended up causing an Incident when her Mask of Hope was lost, mainly due to the imbalance caused from losing her Hope. After a bunch of battles that also happened to involve religion, Kokoro has since gained a new mask, gained better control of her Emotions, and now performs Noh plays at the village and at the Hakurei Shrine.
• Spellcards: Here.

• Name: Alice Margatroid
• Age: Teens(?)
• Appearance: "Yes?"
• Species: Youkai Magician, formerly human (probably)
• Abilities: Aside from the obligatory flight, Alice tends to rely on her dolls, which she can control and see through. Oh, they're also all packed with gunpowder, so if an en-masse attempt to turn you into a pincushion with them doesn't work, explosions galore!
  She also has a book. This book doesn't see much use.
• Personality: Not, in fact, tsundere, though Marisa does—for better or for worse—bring out the snark in Alice, along with a lot of argumentativeness. Otherwise, she's rather polite, if somewhat cold and disinclined to socialise.
• Backstory: From Makai originally, until getting beaten twice, and eventually leaving for Gensokyo proper, at some point becoming a magician and setting up in the Forest of Magic.
  This probably makes her harder to poison than a human would be, given Makai's environment...
• Spellcards: Here.

• Name: Fujiwara no Mokou
• Age: ~1300
• Appearance: "Huh? I'm on fire?"
• Species: Human.
• Abilities:
  • Immortal: Completely and utterly impossible to kill. Yuyuko can't do it, Yukari can't do it—she'll eventually get up from literally anything you can throw at her. She can be incapacitated through pain, though... helped by being literally the squishiest character in any of the games.
    Also completely immune to disease. On the other hand, that's not really an excuse to starve herself...
  • Magician: Seeing as how she's covered in ofuda and tends to set stuff on fire? Yeah, magic is involved. Seeing as how she spends almost all her time wandering a forest, though, it's safe to say she's probably not into it enough to care. But when it comes to specialising in burning things, well...
• Personality: Generally rather blunt , if she DOES decide to talk to you and not just lead you out of the bamboo forest... well, unless you get her started on immortality or Kaguya, in which case she rambles on a bit...
• Backstory: Father was rejected by Kaguya, she stole the Hourai Elixir in order to seek vengeance. Has spent the past few centuries in a constant cycle of revenge. She's rather enjoying it.
• Spellcards: BURN, BABY, BURN
