My problem is that I can't bring myself to save over save files. So yeah, locked out until I get the game. -grumbles-
Persona 3 Portable LiveblogI feel as if I'd ruin the game for myself if I milked it more. I'd already maxed the heroines' affections and moods as far as they can go in chapter 1, got sets of star children from each (and then some), etc. I can wait until the 15th.
I have a bad habbit of finishing dungeons when I first get them, blame that on my days of playing Monster Rancher 4 when my characters were all on time limits, so finishing a dungeon as soon as I get it tends to happen in a lot of game that I play. Just turns out doing that here ends the demo so I kind of want to go back.
Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2This is the best comment.
So I just sunk maybe 5 or 6 hours into the demo. Got my town to level 5 and got all my Social Links bonds up to as far as they can go in the demo. I got luck with twins twice (not counting the beginning of the game) and I got lucky with a Star Child (in other words they start out with their level limit at 99 already unlike the other children). The only thing that I regret is that I couldn't make an archer. Oh well at least I got the brawlers, thieves, merchants, and the class at the bottom of the list by pure luck (and she is the star child).
Does the Star Child have a star mark on the bottom, for if that's the case, I have a Trickster star child with red-head teacher lady.
Persona 3 Portable LiveblogYup there's a Star mark under her. She's an Ether Sniper child of Narika.
Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2Can't wait! And it comes out near payday so I'll actuallybe bale to ge it!
So the game's out now. Did anyone else pick it up?
Yep! Playing it right now.
Persona 3 Portable LiveblogI'm holding out a little bit since I'm moving soon but I do plan on getting it.
Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2I had my last exam earlier in the morning, so I considered it a reward or sorts.
mega-dark, be sure to grab the free DLC now, even if you aren't getting the game immediately. Some of it is apparently only gonna be there temporarily.
Thanks for the heads up, downloading now.
Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2So gameplay is cool, but story is cliche jrpg plot, characters are harem genre characters and writing is kinda shitty along with copying from Persona being kinda half assed since there isn't calendar element?

Apparently you can't like a game without having to compare it to something else.
Insert something witty that makes me better than all of you, here.Hey, it does obviously take "inspiration" from Persona And thats only thing you commented on?
Really, I commented on that review kinda stated other problems and somehow only thing worth noticing was persona comparisons?
Anyway, guy gave it 7/10 so I guess its basically same as most JRPG that don't stand out: Okay gameplay, but really uninspired cliche plot and characters are just archetypes.

Color me easily impressed, than.
Insert something witty that makes me better than all of you, here.Okay, if you want to
The problem is that most people are going to compare it to Persona because it's being "done" by Atlus when really, they are only the western localizer. This was developed by Spike Chunsoft and people don't seem to notice that! So all the Persona referrals tick me off.
-ahem-
Anyway, I do feel annoyed by the lack of any time pressure. The last plot thing I had was pushing me to "GO TO THIS DUNGEON RIGHT AWAY" when I was just about to try to talk to the girls in order to get a newcomer's affection level up. AKA take a lot of time.
Also, kinda annoyed with the main story essentially taking place on a military academy and most of the girls free time stuff is very cheesy high school things.

Persona 3 Portable LiveblogActually, Spikesoft is ripping off Persona so I'm not sure why that makes it better that its not by Atlus
And yeah, if you take inspiration from Persona 3 and 4, don't ignore the time limit thing D: That just causes pacing issues!
And thats part of harem series stuff. Its actually quite surprising how many action harem series have the whole "military school" thing going for them

I think the big problem is the main plot is taking itself very seriously when the girls interactions seem devoid of this seriousness. Along with said big "YOU MUST DO THIS NOW" contrasting with my big grinding sessions to get the girls up to a near equal level.
Persona 3 Portable LiveblogSo apparently there's a DLC boss battle against Monokuma, heading towards western localization.
I think that might also mark his debut on a Nintendo console. Nice in-joke on Spike's part.
Indeed. And it's free. So WHOOO! BATTLE TIME IN MAY!
Persona 3 Portable LiveblogOkay, after having the local Hastings check the back room for the one 3DS copy they had (and getting my groceries), I'm ready to play! ...And wow, that was a long intro sequence. On the plus side, the increased stats and extra... Whatever that one Russian word is from the demo clear is nice.
Okay, I know I'll be sucking at the Social Link knockoffs; two mood downs and one no change is not a good sign of things to come.
Will the transhumanist future have catgirls? Does Japan still exist? Well, there is your answer. — Unknown
Yeah that happened to me too. I just plan on restarting and try and milk as much gameplay out as possible. Hopefully have a team of 3 for all 4 of the current love interests.
