It was an excellent example of a haunted house movie IN SPACE!.
One of the few movies to freak me out.
Who watches the watchmen?I recall seeing this movie in my youth, and being more confused about it than anything else. I think I'll need to give it a second viewing to give it any sort of fair judgement, because right now all I've got is just mostly old negative memories.
I saw it on TV like 10 years ago and when that scene happened I was like: "Did... did I just see what I think I saw. Did that just happen?" Was really freaky.
Nowadays I can't watch it without thinking of Warhammer 40k. "See, that's what happens when you travel the Warp without a Gellar field installed on your ship."
There's some folks who think Event Horizon is the pre-history of the Warhammer 40K verse.
Honestly, even at the time, I thought less "haunted house" and more "lovecraftian horror." It wasn't anything so human and comprehensible as the ghosts of the dead tormenting the living, there.
Home of CBR Rumbles-in-Exile: rumbles.fr.yuku.comWhen you start the film, it's not so obvious where things are headed, which is why it's a gripping plot. The only cliche which stands out was the "or IS IT???" ending.
I'm a skeptical squirreltam: I could see that as something from the Dark Age of Technology with the first jump.
Who watches the watchmen?I like to think of it as a sequel to Possession, myself.

Paul WS Anderson certainly has his share of detractors but he does have three films under his belt that I've heard people say they like.
Mortal Kombat
Event Horizon
Resident Evil
Even then, there are plenty of haters for each. Well....maybe MK not so much but whatever.
I was just curious what the nice folks here thought of the film? I mainly remember Sam Neil because he is awesome.
