No, you traveled in a squiggly line that is completely different from everyone else's squiggly line.
I don't think it's nihilistic at all. The opposite of that, in fact.
"There can't possibly be any meaning in this world. But isn't that wonderful in its own right? Because if there isn't any, we can find our own."
"If we affirm one moment, we thus affirm not only ourselves but all existence. For nothing is self-sufficient, neither in us ourselves nor in things; and if our soul has trembled with happiness and sounded like a harp string just once, all eternity was needed to produce this one event—and in this single moment of affirmation all eternity was called good, redeemed, justified, and affirmed."

Sounded like "Nothing matters what you do because you end up dead in the end."
Guess I prefer a tree branch than a squiggly line.
What matters is what you do along the way. Even if you get the same ending.
Life is not a tree branch. It all converges on a single point.

Your path to the ending may be better. I'm not a fan of "Linear path with 3 endings" either. I like wildly diverging paths.

Also I can't believe Bioshock Infinite won best FPS. That game was terrible. I would have voted for Shadow Warrior or Metro Last Light but no non-AAA games allowed it seems.

Okay, just wanted to say that, just because a game has procedurally generated worlds and shit doesn't mean it automatically is non-linear. It's always about the story progression, as in, how does the game progress.
Story progression is more than an actual story. It's the tech tree, or the kinds of enemies you'll encounter, or the type of events you'll get. In Minecraft, you'll always start by punching trees to get wood to make a workbench to make mining equipment to mine to create stronger stuff to be able to create Nether portals to get the ingredients for the End portal to kill the Enderdragon. That's how the game goes. Doesn't matter what you can do around it, but you'll have a clear beginning, a clear end and a clear way of getting there. It's linear as fuck, and yes, you can do other things beside that, but in the end, the way to get to the end is the same.
However, take for example Super Mario World. In the end, you'll still have to get to Bowser's caste, but you can get there several ways. Either you'll go through the entire game, and get in through the front door, you'll find the secret passage to get to the back door, or travel via star road to get to the back door. It has three paths to get you to the end.
Sometimes a game seems non-linear, but it mostly is something artificial. You'll always end up doing the same thing.
Signatures are for lamers.Umm, no. Sure, everyone dies, but being dead is the part that nobody is around for. So that analogy doesn't really work.
Also, do you not realize that tree branches also converge? :V
I do realize tree branches also converge, but I don't think Thorn does.
Bioshock Infinite was pretty good. I don't see how it was worse than your two alternatives, having played all three.
Not a lot of fantastic shooters this year but.
Reality doesn't tend to do wildly diverging paths.

The gunplay for Infinite was terribad. Only 2 weapons and none of them imaginative, slow pace, boring enemies and none that were as fun as Big Daddies, that TERRIBLE boss fight(s!) against the ghost, the pointless powers, I could go on.
Sure the story was...okay but for an FPS thats irrelevant. I had to actually struggle to finish Bioshock. Last Light ended too quickly for me, I wanted more.
Tell that to someone born in the slums and someone born to wealth.

They have different starting points. That's what we call a "bad example".
And the gunplay was fun, balanced(!) and the powers were fun.
Seriously, I'm amazed at how balanced Infinite is. So many viable options.
...Big Daddies were fun?
And the fights against the Siren were at least better than Fontaine.

Metro: Last Light was one of the choices.
Edit* The thing I liked about what I heard of No Man's Sky is that it has procedurally generated worlds were no world is the same; It also has persistent online where each player has their own world but they can visit each others world.

Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre Adventure
You had much more options fighting the big daddies. You could trap them, lead splicers to distract them, use rockets, electricity, a ton of things.
The big dudes in Infinite I remember having to just run around praying murder of crows went off cool down while I pumped them full of bullets.
And the first Bioshock wasn't that good either. I think the series is massively overrated.
It was? Well I hate these awards even more now.

Take it to the Bioshock thread before this thread gets closed.
The proper usage of the Illusion of Choice is a good thing, particularly in a setting like TWD where you're very powerless.
That doesn't mean Thorn is wrong and that we shouldn't applaud a game when actual choice is given, it's just that actual choice is difficult to pull off well and can ruin what could have been a good game without large amounts of investment (which is something Telltale doesn't have), and even then, they could still fuck it up, so I'm somewhat glad Telltale didn't allow too much choice in TWD.
Also, existentialism now. That's a thing, I guess.

What do you think of visual novels that have a bunch of branching story paths and one "true" ending that you unlock after going though some of those?
I have a message from another time...That's unfalsifiable.
I personally think that you shouldn't have to go through bad ends to get a "true" ending. Heck I don't even like the concept of "true" ends.
But thats not for this thread, I have gone out of topic, sorry.
Ah. I just metioned that because I recently finished playing a visual novel that uses just that, but writes it into the story in a way that would be a rather massive spoiler for me to go into.
The best way I can put it is that you actually do have to do the "bad" endings, because doing them gives you the stuff you need to pursue the "true" ending. Though, "Bad" ending is a bit of a misnomer, since the game never calls them that. It distingueses between those endings, and worse, "game over" endings, that are more like what other games call bad endings.

Gee, if only they'd presented all of their awards in the three fricking hours they had for the show.
Then why complain about it? Just ignore it and walk away, sheezus christ. I don't play console games, but you don't see me shitting over things I won't play because I don't play on consoles anymore.

But in the end you still traveled a straight line.
Well that's Nihilistic.

Also, lol at people thinking The Division will actually look like the trailers when it comes out.
Ubisoft are masters of marketing and bull.
