Lady in Red is still under discussion in the Trope Repair Shop. This thread is premature.

Useless the definition is under discussion, I'm not seeing an issue.

It is under discussion, and you are woefully simplifying the definition.
Which is? Because there was no disagreement with that definition in the trs thread.
There was additional clarification and nuance offered, to say nothing of the definition itself which can not easily be summed up as being merely "seductress" or "promiscuous", which are both gross over simplifications that do not always apply.
However, even using those two words, it is hard to argue that one of the period's leading sex symbols staring at the viewer with a sultry look and wearing the type of dress described in the trope is not an example and illustration of the trope, or at least as close as we can get with a still image.

I like the image a lot. I also agree we should wait after the TRS is closed.
I think there are serious flaws in both sides of that argument, but that is irrelevant because this thread shouldn't exist, it started with what amounts to "we could do better". Of course we can. We always can. IP threads should start with either a suggestion for replacement, or a case that the image makes the page worse and should be pulled whether or not it is replaced. And that's the OP, let alone no suggestions or arguments for pulling after several posts.
Never mind that this reads as petty bickering... adding images to pages that don't have one is way more important than slightly improving the image on a page that already has one.
I motion for this thread to be locked.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.
Lady in Red is about a seductress in a red dress. The current image is Marilyn Monroe in a red dress, which comes across like "woman in a dress" or "hot woman in a red dress".
I think this trope could use an image of a woman actively trying to seduce someone or at least being flirtatious.
