Okay so, I came across the "Hoy Yay" page and...it's massively unclear as to what fits into being "Ho Yay". Most of the things on the page are REALLY stretched speculation that comes down to trying to find homo in every little piece of implied relation between two men/women.

The trope itself is fine, and I think if it was cleaned up a lot, it would be suitable, but as it stands now, it's not a trope at all. These are not plot devices that are used in a story, it's just yaoi and yuri obsessed people trying listing every little thing that vaguely implies homosexuality. And even then, most of the stuff is a STRETCH at best, and/or are just stupid.

AKA; I think that the entire trope, as it is right now, isn't worthy of being a trope. A trope of moments in which the writers specifically mean to imply homosexuality is what this trope should be, and that would be a good trope. But the trope as it is now, is just wild speculation and NOT a list of actual plot devices used in movies/games/films/ect. There's a page for wild speculation. We shouldn't have tropes based around it as well.

EDIT: Well yes, it may be an audience reaction, but that's the thing, there's still such a thing as having too much of an opinion on these things. I understand that the entire point of them is to mark opinions, but there's a difference between listing fan opinions and just turning the audience reaction pages into a WMG spot. Especially the Ho Yay page. It's just turned into a gathering spot for yaoi obsession. I'm not saying don't have the trope, but to just sort some of that trope out. There should be a line between "audience reactions and opinions" and "CRAZED FANS SPROUTING WHATEVER COMES TO THEIR MIND". A lot of the audience reactions pages cross that line fully.

If you were trying to make a point, you should have done it without ban evading for prior vandalism and without blanking a page dealing with the trope. Even without that, the wiki is not your soapbox to complain about the implied presence of homosexual characters.

THREAD LOCKED.

"Yup. That tasted purple."
