Or completely kid-friendly musicals about holidays.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatDoesn't Disney own a porn studio somewhere too?
"War without fire is like sausages without mustard." - Jean Juvénal des UrsinsI don't know about that, but they own Miramax which released Kill Bill.
Owned. They sold it in 2010.

X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.Because Miley and Selena said no?
Trump delenda estDrew Goddard, the writer of Cabin in the Woods, is writing Daredevil.
The fact these projects already have writers attached to them has me wondering if they'll have the details of the characters sorted out soon enough to have them appear as early as the second season of SHEILD?
I wonder who they are going to get to play the Kingpin.
Weird Al in his suit from the "Fat" video.
"Show us the Galaxy Warp."It's a shame MCD passed away. He really was the best part of that Daredevil movie.
Not sure whether I posted this thought before, but he made Kingpin very much Unintentionally Sympathetic for me. It also helped that my only knowledge of the character was through Spider-Man: The Animated Series, in which he wasn't too bad of a guy (although the show did introduce the element (in a very toned down way) of him as an enemy of Murdoch).
Thinking about it, Kingpin might not need to appear at all- he could be an offscreen presence and Murdoch could be dealing with various lower level mooks.

Edit, edit, edit, edit the wikiI don't know taking down the Kingpin (even if only temporarily) seems like it would be a good cap to the miniseries.
Anything taking place in New York on a street level in the MU tends to some how involve the Kingpin. He has the entire city in a no win scenario.
I find it really hard to believe they wouldn't have the Kingpin in the Defenders. And there is the problem that the majority of the alternative mob-bosses belong to the Spider-Man IP.
Pretty much, even the Kingpin started as a Spider-Man villain (but was bundled with Daredevil for obvious reasons).
Kingpin and DD go together like Abbott And Costello of course.
"Show us the Galaxy Warp."I hope they dedicate the first appearance of the Kingpin to MCD.
Now I'm remembering the end credits of Saints Row 4.
"War without fire is like sausages without mustard." - Jean Juvénal des UrsinsHow are Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage "The Defenders?" To my knowledge the only one who spent any real length of time as a Defender in the comics was Luke Cage, and Nighthawk had to pay him a retainer fee to do that. Doesn't this grouping suggest "Heroes for Hire" more than "The Defenders?"
mudshark: I don't expect Nate to make sense, really.Defenders sounds less... mercenary. We don't like mercenaries very much right now.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatActually I'd say this group sounds more like Marvel Knights, but that name never got said in cannon for obvious reasons.
Defenders is just a name, although it happens to be one Marvel has the rights to. Fox seem to want to make an X-Force movie, that doesn't mean it has to resemble any X-Force incarnation from the comics. They could have Multiple Man set up a mutant detective agency and call it X-Force if they want to.
Am I a good man or a bad man?I've been assuming that this team will essentially be Heroes for Hire, but that they went with the name Defenders because they figured it sounded cooler.
Kind of like how Young Justice was mostly "Teen Titans meets The Outsiders" and not so much Young Justice, but perhaps since they didn't want people necessarily having the old show brought to mind they went with the name of another teen superhero team instead.
In any case, if a company intentionally misnames one of their own properties for an adaptation there's usually a reason, good/understandable or not.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Defenders is easy to put anyone in because it it was Marvels official non-team. It's main membership requirement was "show up".
