1.3 works for me best. The others look like "industry zone" or "ghetto" more.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanClock is set.
1.1 one has houses & factories, like it the best.
I think that's my overall favorite as well; here it is at 350.
Probably my favourite too.
Check out my fanfiction!I'd like something more contemporary, for comparison.
I couldn't find any recent pictures that fit the trope description. It's mostly an industrial revolution era thing.
"@[=g3,8d]&fbb=-q]/hk%fg"I keep thinking of the Rust Belt but 1900's industrial squalor is good too, just preferred a photo over a woodcut.
Bump. I like Willbyr's resize of 1.1, any objections or should I put it up?
"@[=g3,8d]&fbb=-q]/hk%fg"I like it too.
The clock is up; consensus for 1.1 is weak, but it's better than nothing so it's up and tagged. I put a couple of the other suggestions and one other that I found on the Image Links page. Add a caption if you want one; locking up.
The page for this trope is imageless, though it doesn't need to be, since there's tons and tons of paintings and photos of ugly polluted neighborhoods. I have a few favorites from old art and the like, but this isn't exactly a hard trope to depict anyways. Here's some OP pictures:
Factories and slums by a river◊
Picture of some British slums◊
Some more factories◊
Five Points, Manhattan--Might need to crop this one.◊
