Basically what I'm asking is would he write his story/plot out in a script format or a traditional novel book format for the artist to read and draw from?

[up] There's two main methods.

One is the writer writes a description of each panel and the artist draws it out. With some, it's exactly what is in each panel. With others, it a broad description of the events and text.

The second is the "Marvel Method". The writer give the artist the plot of the story. The Artist then draws it all then the writer goes back and writes the text to fit the story. It was one Stan Lee used when he was writing pretty much everything in the Marvel Universe and is why the artists of the time are regarded as equal creators (or more so).

I assume most people actually work something between the two

I think most comics are written in script format nowadays (at least at the big two).

All the comics I've written have been in the first method. But then again, I haven't actually gotten together with an artist to make any of them. It's either find an artist and accept that the characters will look a little different from how they do in my head, or hunker down, work my butt off, and get better at drawing.

The very best, like no one ever was. Check out my Spider-Man fanfic here! [1]
