Now this series caught me by surprise. I thought Kill la Kill or Log Horizon would be THE show for me this season but this just blows my mind. I anticipate the weekly release every Suday where I live.

I'm not sure if it's just me, but the characters all seem likable so far and it would be a shame if either of the main heroines were to lose. That said, the anime seems to be giving more focus to Touma for now. Kitahara is reacting to her while the blatant flirting of Ogiso barely manages to put a blush on his face.

So, what does everyone else think of this show? I'm also curious about the first series, but I heard it pales in comparison to this.

...I'm assuming this isn't an anime adaption of the Beatles album.

[up] It isn't.

[up][up] I'm waiting for it to get drama-y (seriously, the first season was set in the 80's PURELY SO THEY COULD AVOID CELLPHONES!)

Hopefully the drama's natural. They actually seem to be friends, so the implied fallout's going to hit everyone twice as hard. I hear White Album 1's MC was basically Makoto's second coming. At least Kitahara's got a firmer head on his shoulders, from what I've seen.

[up] Pretty much. I think he slept with every female character in the show except for one.

He slept with everyone except for the two female leads, one of whom was supposed to be his girlfriend. Yes, it was a frustrating watch, as the MC was also an utterly unlikeable guy who let himself get dragged along by events.

I think there was an implication in episode 24 that he did too.

Frankly White Album 1 was wallbanging levels of frustrating, and I'm glad that WH 2 is somewhat straightforward. That said, the WH 2 game HAS been compared to Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, so it's likely that we're still at the beginning of the rollercoaster ride...

[up] It was still incredibly entertaining to watch. (and had some surprisingly well-directed/effective scenes)it's just that it didn't hang together as a coherent story at all :p (which is probably because of the adaptation it was)

And yeah, if it's been compared to KGNE we're definitely in for something.

It's been solid so far, but I really liked the last episode. It's nice to see one of the female leads has her eye on both prizes and a plan to get both of them at the same time, especially with the way Ogiso got bludgeoned by that at the end of the episode. Makes me think of Kumagawa, as most messing around in fictional romance does now. "Are you playing some kind of game? A dating sim? One where you increase your love points and trigger flags and clear events?"

Certainly explains why there's so much in the episode 1 flash-forward that we haven't seen yet — it's gonna light a fire under Ogiso's ass when she realizes how much ground she's lost.

[up] When Ogiso's taking her shower, her hand shifts suspiciously downward, and then it cuts away to Kazusa playing the guitar. I'd say the implication's pretty clear.

This show is shaping up to be one of my favorites of the season. Haruki is one of the better leads I've seen for this kind of series. Nice to have a guy with a real personality, motivation, and flaws that don't revolve around being spineless or a pervert. The girls are great too, and they all have excellent chemistry together. I'm favoring Touma right now, but Ogiso is compelling as well. Hopefully the upcoming drama is handled as well as everything else has been so far.

OH SHIT. I was really starting to like this show. Too hesitant to drop it so I guess I'll have to ride in the rollercoaster.

especially with the way Ogiso got bludgeoned by that at the end of the episode
Just want to clarify this: Is this referring to the presence of two toothbrushes, one of which belongs to the guy?

I'm eagerly looking forward to the full version of Ogiso's White Album cover. I'm finding her version more to my liking than Aya Hirano's.

[up][up] Post above this one got it right. That was definitely framed as a realization moment, camera-wise, especially with Touma's earlier "make sure you don't leave anything here."

And man, talking about her lead... Her laughing at Ogiso wanting to do "Sound of Destiny," and at all the extra practice Haruki would have to put in (in her house), was the moment I realized just how hard she's winning right now. I mean, damn.

[up] It's already out, courtesy of the original VN. Here. I guess the rest of the related videos are music spoilers, if you care about that.

[up] Same V As? Cool.surprised Thanks dude.

Also, I'm bit curious. How did Ogiso magically realize that it was Haruki's toothbrush? It could've been a spare of Kazusa's. Heck, it didn't even have his name on it.tongue Unless, she's a bit unstable in the head, I don't see why she's making such a big deal out of something that hasn't even been confirmed or anything.

Or was it because she just touched herself to him the moment before.[lol]

[up]

It's not just a toothbrush, it's an entire travel kit - the kind you use when you're going to be staying in hotels, visiting friends, etc. It's not something you'd have laying around if you actually lived somewhere with your own proper toiletries, etc.

Really, it's the toothbrush was just the last piece of evidence she needed to realize that he'd been spending the entire week essentially living with Touma while she'd been out of the loop.

[up][up] I don't think either Touma or Haruki see each other in an explicitly romantic light, at least not yet. They're just blowing right past the traditional platonic relationship faster than either of them realize it.

Ah, ouch.

She's definitely not the type to back down at this point though. Probably gonna have a long heart to heart with Kazusa before they both start pursuing him in earnest. She's probably gonna up the ante with her blatant flirting. I don't mind though, since it is adorable most of the time.

Hmm. This season will only cover the opening chapter I guess. It's making enough money, so more if it to come in the coming years I think.
