Bought this film on DVD and I love it. It's a great film for the reasons you mentioned. Apparently, a comic book prequel is now in the works.
Nice to meet you!Huh. It is apparently on Comixology and I have bought a digital copy to support them.

And now we have a page for the comic. Awesome.
Ok, who let Light Yagami in here?IMDB lists a "Connection" of *The Last Superhero (2015)*, but there's no details. There was talk, when this came out, that there'd be a sequel set 5 years or so later. Wonder if they actually made any progress on that.
According to Jason Trost's Facebook page, he's been trying to get one off the ground, but it's been off and on so far. He's working on it.

Jason Trost's recent Facebook post has said he's going to start shooting it in a few weeks, along with putting up snippets of the script, so it's going ahead.

Indiegogo page for the sequel is up now.
Ok, who let Light Yagami in here?I am torn. I loved the movie and the comicbook, but the text of the IGG page is turning me off on the project. I can get "my first film didn't do as well as I'd hoped and it's garnered a lot of negative reviews, but I still think this film can do great things", but "everyone is out to get me on this one, but I'll show them and make this movie" feels a bit too much like a persecution complex.
I wonder if his mention of people suing him over the title relates to the Marvel/DC trademark on "Super Hero". It wouldn't surprise me entirely.
That's fair, but to me he just sounds kinda bummed out, not whining at all.
And Geeze, really? Trademarked? That's just stupid.
Ok, who let Light Yagami in here? The Sequel Is Greenlit thanks to funding. It's due to be out next Spring.
Ok, who let Light Yagami in here?It looks a little low-budget, but I'd be willing to buy a ticket to watch it.

All Superheroes Must Die
Watched it yesterday. It was an entertaining deconstruction of the heroes winning all of the time (including a villain whose motivation was basically that he was tired of losing all of the time and wanted the heroes to feel his pain. They kept the action hustling along most of the time, although the flashbacks could get a bit painful. I'm very annoyed that they didn't bother to subtitle the movie. Sure, they largely spoke pretty clearly, but it's cheap to do, and it helps those of us with less than perfect hearing. The superhero costumes were simple, largely averting the Movie Superheroes Wear Black trope in that the heroes are basically kids who went into it on a lark, justifying the spandex nature of their costumes.
Anyone else seen it and have feedback?
