Don't think Chris Metzen's a game designer, I think his job's the more narrative sort.

So anyone be up for sharing ID codes with one another for friends lists and trying to get together as a team sometime?

About Thrall: he's actually shaping up to be a lower tier hero in the current version of the beta. Melee characters (both warriors and assassins) live and die by their ability to close range, but Thrall has practically no capabilities in that regard.

Man, for me the game is basically unplayable. I don't know if it's the people who buy into beta and don't know how to play or if they're buying in with their teams, or what. But every game for a week has been an utter curbstomp. Like 5 kills to 25 at the end. Ug.

Patch notes.

Major reworking for Raynor and Sonya, Tychus and Brightwing nerfs, and the three vikings make their debut. Should be interesting.

Ironically, the two heroes who got the biggest reworks are also the only two heroes I've actually unlocked.

Go figure.

Wow, the Lost Vikings are insane. They don't really have abilities like other characters, it's not about having a tool kit so much as it's managing three characters in different locations.

So I've noticed. They probably trump Abathur in the 'different than any other MOBA character ever' department.

Me, I'm more interested in Zagara right now because I've finally had a chance to player her and dang, I think she may well be my new favorite hero to play.

I'm more interested in the fact that the Lost Vikings trailer implies that each of the realms we're fighting in is a Floating Continent. (Also, said trailer is hilarious.)

Fun story of the night - I'm playing as Zagara on Dragonshire, and one of my teammates is playing as Sgt. Hammer.

My team is in a less than idea spot, and the enemy team is pushing in on what I'm sure they think will help them finally put us down for good when the shrines light up. I'm able to use the Nydus worm to jump to the lower shrine, but I don't have one up top.

Except, wouldn't you know it, Sgt Hammer has their orbital gun swinging by not far from the north shrine, so with some particular timing, I'm able to to use the vision granted by the orbiting gun to get a Nydus worm up top and warp in to steal the second shrine, and then rush to get the dragon before the enemy team has a chance to respond.

Next thing you know, I'm able to rush in with the dragon to pound away at their core, and by the time they've booted me out of the dragon, I've done enough damage that we're able to knock it down for the win.

Good job, I am amused by stories like that since "pro" players from other MOB As like to whine that you can't "make plays" in this game. How dare the team game focus more on the team, right?

And finally, Thrall is on rotation.

Do I get a prize for somehow ending up in a random co-op match alongside Wowcrendor? Because I think that deserves a prize.

I got into the beta, and so I'd be quite happy to accept invitations from others around here to play it together.

We should definitely add each other to our friends lists so we can do that sometime.

Word from PAX is Sylvanas Windrunner is coming, she's a siege character who can wreck a lane by possessing the enemy minions and towers. Trying to find decent video to share.

Wow, there's something impressive about seeing those maps from above.

Though on the other hand, they also don't look like they quite line up with the actual maps.

Blizzcon is on November 6th and 7th.

So, suddenly, I got a beta invitation of this and I started playing it. I love it, though I'm not doing the normal matches yet. Wow, gaining money to buy heroes are kind of hard I'm wondering to just churn out normal cash for a few of favorites. The likes of Zeratul and Jaina comes to mind... Should I?

The sales change with some frequency. You might be able to wait for them to go half off.

Unlike League, only one Hero gets a discount per period (weekly). So I'm not sure how long I could wait until the heroes I wanted get on a discount. Do we have a leakage for that?

You could, alternately, buy them totally free for the gold you get just for playing.

That's the thing, the gold income from games seems... very little. I haven't tried normal quick matches because I'm trying to gauge what's best for me and fearing that the lack of complete Talent Trees are going to hamper me. But... will the cash flow get better once I'm in Quick Matches?
