Today's hilarity comes from accidental dialogue timing.

Playing Tyrande, I'm on my way back to the healing fountain, wounded, when I pass my team's Sylvanas. She does her "get some healing" line, followed a second later by my Tyrande's "I'm moving" line. Or, if you don't get it just yet...

Sylvanas: Get to a healing fountain! Now!
Tyrande: As the goddess commands.

Varian and Ragnaros both confirmed as heroes.

This song needs more love.

You lied. PERISH IN LIVING FLAME.

So Varian is a stance dancer Specialist who can change stances and roles from tanky Warrior to chasing Assassin with slow attacks to a quick hitting basic attack Assassin? Sounds interesting.

I think it's more like you pick a talent that permanently sets you as one or the other.

No, the trailer specifically shows him changing out his weapons in mid-game. Probably has a cast time, so it can't be done on the fly, but stance switching is part of his kit.

I actually wonder if it's still Metzen doing Varian. He did quit from Blizzard, remember?

It's not clear, although he did tweet that he will continue to provide the voice of Thrall in the future. (Which, given that Thrall could have reaction lines for Varian and/or Ragnaros, would be shown soon enough.)

You know, after seeing this trailer I somehow doubt we're gonna get Varian back (in any form) in Wo W. It kind of feels like a send-off to me.

I mean, he seemed pretty dead, more or less had a pretty complete story arc and Anduin having to take charge in his stead provides a decent new plot thread that would be ruined by having Varian suddenly come back.

Maybe this will put an end to some of the more stupid fan theories then. Just because Blizzard's penchant to corrupt/revive characters has become a Running Gag over the years doesn't mean that every character that ever died will come back.

Similarily I hope that Vol'jin stays dead - I could see him appearing as a Loa in some Troll-related content, but outright revival? Nope, hopefully not gonna happen.

I can understand fans wanting it though. It was pretty friggin' lame for him.

[up] I played the Horde side of the scenario just once (most of my characters are Alliance), but wasn't the Horde's position practically swarming with demons compared to the Alliance's?

Him getting distracted and then stabbed in the back didn't seem that implausible. Is it a shitty way to go for someone like Vol'jin? Of course it is. I would have probably felt similar if that had happen to Varian. But it's not implausible.

But I think the main problem had with his death wasn't so much how he died, but what he did between becoming Warchief and his death - absolutely nothing.

I was thinking it was both things really, but I'm sure even a relatively cool death would still greatly disappoint without him doing anything as Warchief as anyway.

I've decided to give this game a try, mainly due to those neat incentives like that kickass Oni Genji skin coming down the line.

Any tips or pointers?

Try to find a handful of heroes that covers all three major universes (Warcraft, Starcraft, and Diablo) and all four role types (Warrior, Assassin, Support, and Specialist) that you feel comfortable playing. Those will be the heroes you want to pay to unlock first. (This will make gaining gold much easier.)

Also, don't feel pressured to look up the "best" talent builds. Most heroes have multiple viable talent choices, and it comes down a lot to play style. Figure out what works for you.

Alrighty; thanks.

I picked Thrall out of the three free Heroes offered after training. I'll try and work my way up; I'd like to give The Lost Vikings a shot someday.

Samuro is some BS right now. 1 death when your team has 40 should not happen.
