Well if more eps were airing and Disney got off it's lazy ass and aired more eps then everything would be O.K.

To be fair, I can imagine it's a bit hard to market a show that can basically be summed up as "Craig Mc Cracken's acid flashbacks."

Maybe they should air episodes of it before screenings of Fantasia?

....... at what reason would The Disney Channel ever air Fantasia!?!?!

It's a Disney movie why would they not? Or rather, why is the idea so unbelievable it calls for an all italics exclamation?

.... do you even WATCH The Disney Channel today!?! They hardly ever air their classic movies anymore. It's all either teen sitcoms, music videos, teen sitcom movies, or contemporary animation.

Who exactly is the crowd they have to win back? Because if "bring back the old stuff" in an anticipated response, then the people engaging in the discussion probably aren't the target demographic, and so Nick doesn't really have to win them back at all.
Agreed. Like it or not Nickelodeon is, was, and always will be a children's network, same with The Disney Channel, and Cartoon Network. They're doing just fine with their target audience which is the current generation of kids. Those of us who watched the old shows aren't their audience anymore. We had our's let's the younger generation have their's. It's time for us to move on. Nostalgia's a fun place to visit but I don't wanna live there.

[up] That doesn't mean that it would be a bad thing to introduce to today's generation material/policies/etc. that helped the company be as successful as it was with generations of the past. And hey, who knows, they can win over audiences that aren't within their intended age group like Invader Zim and Avatar (both Last Airbender and Legend of Korra did), so they would be winning over multiple audiences instead of a few despite the program's intended audiences.

I usually hear criticism about the network that they air too much Sponge Bob or that the company is convinced that shows similar to Sponge Bob is their only path to success. That could be summarized as Nickelodeon not being varied enough in their schedule and their programming. I'm sure many would like to see more different programs on the network. Nick had it in the past and so have their rivals, and some of them still have it today; and said variety is/was arguably a part of why they were/are successful.

So it wouldn't hurt to start going back to having more variety in their programming schedule and/or shows, would it?

Around this time 10 years ago, people were complaining about Nickelodeon going down the toilet ever since Rugrats and the other Klasky Csupo cartoons became popular and dominated the network. Personally, I think that's a huge example of "Be careful as you wish for" as I honestly feel that Sponge Bob has been more overexposed than anything that Klasky/Csupo has done. At least during the era where K/C dominated the network, there was more or less a variety of shows compared to now, in my opinion at least.

For Disney Channel, Phineas and Ferb scored pretty high ratings in the late 2000s and early 2010s, just as much as Sponge Bob, if not more (Though the fact that it was this popular has seemed to have faded into obscurity as not many people I know seem to remember the cult following the show once had). Because of it's success, Disney Channel often beat Nickelodeon in the ratings. The show was the first modern cartoon in a while to get praise (Until the others came around that is, and Pn F fell into a Seinfeldis Unfunny scenario which has many people questioning why the show ever became popular). When Gravity Falls came out, that was the start of the ratings and popularity decline for Pn F with not many people owning up to ever liking Phineas and Ferb and abandoning the show completely, or becoming haters and listing it as one of the worst examples of modern animation (The controversy surrounding Mission Marvel pretty much sums it up). It's pretty sad considering the future it had going for it. So that's likely one of the reasons why Phineas and Ferb has declined in ratings, added to people hating the show because of it's formula-driven plots. It doesn't help that merchandise is no longer being produced, the theatrical movie has been shelved and Disney Channel has recently changed it's Facebook page to being a spare for their channel, so in other words, it feels like Disney Channel has fallen out of love with it just as much as it's former fans.

I'd say it's more people growing up or moving on to other things than "being careful what you wish for." I highly doubt that most of the people complaining now are the same group as those complaining 10 years ago.

That's true. Many of today's teenagers think Nickelodeon's golden age was the early 2000s where back then, people were saying that the 90s was Nick's golden age. The later Rugrats episodes being reevaluated I think shines a light on that. Some of the complaints are from those same people back then but for the most part, entirely new generation (Although Tommy and friends had almost faded into obscurity until they were rescued due to revived popularity thanks to The90s Are All That and Nickelodeon reruns as of 2011)

I said screenings. As in in theaters. Which exist. There are still theaters that screen Fantasia. It's a relatively popular midnight flick.

What I'm saying is that Wander Over Yonder would probably be best appreciated by stoners.

You're mixing up the Disney Channel with the Disney movie company.

It's the same company, just different branches of the company. You're completely ignoring the point I'm making.
