I wish them luck, really, but I'm not sure a small kickstarter MMO can work.
I misread the title as City of Trains.
Hope it happens, I loved Co H
Very big Daydream Believer. "That's not knowledge, that's a crapshoot!" -Al Murray "Welcome to QI" -Stephen FryYeah, I saw this when it launched. Definitely going to back when I can scrape the money together. For me, COH was... I never got super into it, you know? Don't think I ever managed to level a character all the way up . But every time I got tired of whatever games I had, I'd always go back to Paragon City. I really hope they succeed.
Although I'm a little bit miffed at Masterminds being a million+ stretch goal.
Sodor? Also good!
More character creation options are always a good thing. This is worthy of funding.
EDIT: Well they now have my $10.

But that's a story for another time.I've added my support of $25.
I spent way too much time on City Of Heroes, but they way it ended really wasn't the way it should have.
Even if I don't play it, I hope it does well.
by the time i found out about City Of Heroes, it was already canned. was it that good?
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.Debateable.
Great selection of powers, unmatched costume designs, flexibility in character classes were it's pros.
Combat could feel samey, villain side was certainly the unloved side, not much variance in missions until late in it's life as some of it's cons.
I'm not in a good position to really say, I played the game a long time so I'm very biased.
Everything but the actual combat mechanics were pretty great by the end. It was very much in the style of World Of Warcraft, with the hotbar, tab selecting, etc. Also, the mission system was very instanced, which was generally a good thing but led to some of the maps starting to feel very repetitive after a while (dat warehouse...).
But the character customization, guild system, setting, and class flexibility were absolutely fantastic, so it comes out ahead in the end.

Kickstarter backers' update:
In an effort to avoid the pitfalls of traditional binary Good/Evil morality in video games, City of Titans will (probably) use a three axis morality system. The axes are:
Violence - how much your character is willing to engage in violent conduct outside of combat (torture, assualt)
Honor - how much your character sticks to her/his word, a la Horton the Elephant or Patches the Hyena.
Law - how much your character abides by the written laws of the city.
Interestingly a character could technically be very Lawful, non-Violent and Honorable, and still be a villain. And vice versa with "heroic" characters.
But that's a story for another time. So, this went up on the Kickstarter page. Sort of a little short story elaborating on the setting, how the regular people in the city live their lives. Pretty well written, IMO.
Oh, also, here they describe their ideas about the end game, as well as player stories that they're calling Paths. Seems very, very cool, but also incredibly ambitious, considering their budget and relative inexperience. I can't help but feel they should try and find some private backers, you know?

Using 'Paths' may be accurate but they're inviting superficial comparisons with Wildstar's earlier use of the term.
Maybe. I'm having trouble coming up with a decent alternative, tho.
Forgive the doublepost, but they did another of the "dispatches from Titan City," so I thought I'd post a link. Not as much character as the first one, but it's supposed to be an official memo-thing, so I suppose that's to be expected.
It has now raised enough that a Mac port will be available. Nice for the Mac users
There's only 2 days left. Hopefully it'll at least make it up to the next 4 or 5 stretch goals.
Eh. I doubt it'll crack 650. I'd love it for them to hit Mastermind (or whatever they're calling it) but I think the diehard Co X community is pretty much tapped out at this point.
Still, I hope I'm wrong.
So, it's over at $678K and 5,003 backers.
Pretty good campaign overall, I'd say. Hopefully the remaining stretch goals can be introduced over time trough Expansion Pack Kickstarters or something.

We can only hope. There's a lot of cynicism surrounding this game, but I wish them the best of luck.
A City of Heroes Spiritual Successor.
City of Titans looks awesome. Really hoping it gets all of its stretch goals, even though it's not likely.
