I'm here.
About the names, Carl would tell people his name for sure.
I'd think establishing how we met first is a bit more important. Whether or not we gave our real names would be a consequence of how that played out, after all.
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)I'm also present.
And Dedit would have, almost by nature, kept his name and race a secret.
To put it bluntly, it's best described as time-space shenanigans. You were each informed that you needed to go to somewhere particularly open and isolated. While the setting may change for some of you, depending on the world, you pretty much came into something like a plains area late at night, with the ground beneath you littered with 'rocks'. You'd be able to see your 'group' on the horizon somewhere or another, and you'd all end up clumping together. From there, the plainsy bits fade away to some degree and you're left in what you can barely tell is the Obsidian Forest because it's pitch black.
This is really one of the things I like to handwave because it's not really supposed to make any logical sense but overall there's no room for any bad experiences between characters when they meet.
"You lost, Dio. You lost for one simple reason - you were using charcoal." - Hank HillAh, kind of a Ravenloft-esque entry then (just without the fog part). So am I correct in assuming that this meeting took place either a few hours prior or yesterday?
Incidentally, my character will have given his real name, but not his title.

Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)Somewhere past yesterday, i'd guess. The prty has been, by the time we'll start the RP, going through this forest for a damn long time.
"You lost, Dio. You lost for one simple reason - you were using charcoal." - Hank HillPresent. Neither name nor epithet have been given, although variations on "cranky old bird" will suffice.
Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation. That leaves mrminun (autocorrected to Mormonism) to check in, then.
The RP will hopefully begin in just a few hours.
"You lost, Dio. You lost for one simple reason - you were using charcoal." - Hank HillI AM NOT MORMON DAMN YOU AUTO CORRECT
Anywhoosulah, Yeah, I think that Mernia would be on a last name basis with everybody. Also, expect some justification for why we're walking throught the forest when she has a map. (It'll be my first post)
UhDo you mean that because your character has a map you know the way? Because that's going to kinda not be the case if you can't see the map.
Anyway, the RP starts quite soon - i'm typing up the start of it after this.

One thing that completely slipped my mind is that there's something very specific you all need at the beginning of your posts:
> [Command]
Command in this case being the main thing you're doing in that post. If you're just talking or something small, you can skip it, but when the fighting starts I would like for that to be at the top so I can keep a constant check of what you're doing as I write a post.
"You lost, Dio. You lost for one simple reason - you were using charcoal." - Hank HillGenerally, it helps if you post a link.
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)... why did that slip my mind
Sorry about that. :P
Totamic Hero, ladies and gentlemen! Doing the job I should have done but didn't!

I didn't think I needed a command for my first post, so...
Also, it just occurred to me that the description of this place suspiciously resembles The End.

Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)Eh, don't really see it myself.
See what I did there? See!? HUEHUEHUEHUE
Anyway, currently have college work to do over the course of this week and next, so keep that in mind if we don't make real progress. That being said, I usually wait for RP's like this for either everyone to post or in this case for the party as a whole to do something.
"You lost, Dio. You lost for one simple reason - you were using charcoal." - Hank HillI'm going to have my character try something, and I'll probably need a GM post following it to tell me if it works.
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)Can do.
"You lost, Dio. You lost for one simple reason - you were using charcoal." - Hank HillWhee, something's happening?
"You lost, Dio. You lost for one simple reason - you were using charcoal." - Hank HillSo I'm trying something, but the outcome probably varies depending on whether magic still works here, and if it was just the forest's light suppression that kept Dedit's flame from working. Also, are we limited to the specific description of the spells we wrote in, or are we allowed to tweak them in terms of application? (E.g. I'm using a blast of air instead of the "air slash" of Razor Wind.)

Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation.Magic does in fact work here.
If i'm not mistaken, you have a defensive spell that does exactly that. I did note that you could easily use that offensively if you wanted to - the opposite goes for Razor Wind but only if you're really clever.
Expect a post in a minute or two.
"You lost, Dio. You lost for one simple reason - you were using charcoal." - Hank HillAh, good. I might try something slightly more unorthodox later on, of course. (This usually has painful consequences for all involved.)
Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation. That actually really scares me.
UhIf anything, it makes me wonder what you intend to try to do later.
"You lost, Dio. You lost for one simple reason - you were using charcoal." - Hank HillNeed a couple more people to post when you can.

Alright, this is up now.
First order of business is a quick attendance check, so let me know you're alive and well.
Second order of business is that I'm going to let you, as the OOC Party, let me know where the party stands on a couple issues. I'm running under the assumption they've not gotten the chance to really know eachother yet and that they've established their identity as a party in some way. Namely, names. The key thing I want to know is where the party stands on identities: How much or how little did your character give or did the party set a standard?
