Painkiller: Insanity - Signup and Interest Check

I'll skip the introduction, because I suck at those horribly.

Hey everyone. I'm honored to welcome you in the thread for my first RP here on TV Tropes(technically second, but the other one never went beyond interest phase).

• So, what's this about?
  • This RP will focus on exploits and misadventures of a group of fallen souls handpicked by Sammael, The Poison of God, to operate behind enemy lines and cause as much havoc as generally possible. If they fight well enough, they might earn their rightful place in Heavens and finally rest. However, one mistake means they will die again... and that will be the end.
• Wait, did you say "die again"?
  • A-yup. Before you became a part of this unit, you used to be a simple human being. You weren't a goody two-shoes, not by any means. However, you weren't also vile enough to be considered useless and thrown away at demons' mercy. You can now prove that you might be worthy of ascension.
• So how do we do this?
  • I'd say it mixes elements of survival and "hack-and-slash". Think Serious Sam or, you guessed it, Painkiller. Despite its name, however, knowledge of the series is entirely optional. I also hope for it to become subtler over time, though now we have to start this all up.
• What's the stage?
  • Purgatory, or to be more specific, its demonic part. This giant wasteland, created from twisted and desolated accomplishments of humanity, is inhabited by tons of hostile baddies of various colors and sizes. Most of them shows little intellect, but you never know who you will run into.
• Something else I need to know?
  • Rule of Cool is in full effect. Also, despite its premise, I expect it to be relatively light-hearted, at least early on.

Character sheet:

• Name/Codename
• Age
• Appearance
• Backstory
• Origin of Death - basically, how you died. Depending on that, your character will receive a Tarot Card that can be used to turn the tides in your favor. I leave its design and effect to you, although try to avoid stuff that's too OP.
• Vice - One of the seven(Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy, Pride). A deciding factor, your vice is the reason that you ended up here. It might be related to your entire life or just a single event(assuming it was powerful enough to leave such an impact). Based on that, your character will receive a special ability that can be used at their leisure if they feel like it. However, each use bears a risk of abandoning what little of humanity you have left and becoming a demon yourself... Same as with Tarot Cards, be reasonable. The more powerful the ability is, the more it will hit your soul.
• Weapon - your toy to kill baddies with. Go wild with your imagination, we'll see if it's too cool.
• Other - miscellaneous things you think are important.

• Name/Codename: Lieutenant Sofiya Vasilisa Alexandrovna/Sophie Alexander/Crimson Saint
• Age: 32
• Appearance: A 5'8" tall woman with platinum-blonde hair and grey-green eyes who generally wears her hair in a ponytail and has a VI tattoo and other assorted tattoos down her right arm and a tattoo of the World Serpent coiling down her left arm.
• Backstory: Grew up in a Moscow orphanage until she was 18, when she ran away to join the military. She saw around a dozen years of combat in various locales across the globe, but was killed indirectly by a stray mortar in Chechnya just a few days shy of her 33th birthday. Earned the nickname 'Crimson Saint' due to her penchant for praying for enemy prisoners before executing them with a single shot to the head from her pistol.
• Origin of Death - Was killed in a Chechnyan warzone by a stray mortar, which blew off both her legs, causing her to bleed to death in the field. Her tarot card gives her increasingly enhanced resilience the longer she uses it, at the cost of burning away her humanity faster the longer it's in use.
• Vice - Wrath. Grants her the ability to fuse her weapons and ammo supply with her arms, and the secondary ability of creating weapons from her flesh that are similiar in shape to the ones she carries
• Weapon(s) - Beretta ARX-160 Assault Rifle w/Leupold CQ/T Scope/custom Taurus PT 92 with the words 'Quoniam non habent futurorum vobis' engraved in Latin on the barrel
• Other - N/A

@Hasame: Perhaps I used wrong words here. ^^; I meant it's going to be an easy ride, at least early on. Also, as long as you don't be dumb with playing characters, there's no point to make things harder for you, right?

@Troy: We might.

@Everyone interested: Hey, glad to have you on board. :)

@Sixth: Okay, so it's clearly not finished and has some story issues(minor ones, but to be fixed):

• Lacks both Tarot Card and the power.
• Age and her date of death are completely different. I should have possibly clarified, but once you're dead, you stop aging(though I thought it's fairly obvious. Sorry)
• That Beretta could use some description. Is it a pistol? A bolt-action rifle? An assault rifle?
• Usually codenames have to be earned or at least explained in the backstory. Where did she get that, considering she was a military pretty much all of her adult life?

The rest seems okay, though that's obviously not enough to get this card accepted for now. :/

I have an idea of a character, and got her vice and power sorted. But she is killed by a speeding car. What Tarot card can I make based on that?

Something speed-related, most possibly increasing a character's speed or slowing down the time around them.

Here is a complete list(well, almost) of canon Tarot Cards in short detail. You can use them or create your own. To quickly explain, gold TC's are to be used, work instantaneously and last a short amount of time while silver TC's are passive effects that last indefinitely(assuming they are constantly, shall we say, "fed"), but aren't as powerful or flashy.

• Name/Codename: Molly Logan/The Fobwatch
• Age: 20
• Appearance: A petite young woman with long, mahogany hair and blue eyes.
• Backstory: Born into poverty, Molly became jealous of what her classmates had, and was pickpocketing by the age of 10. She left school at 16 with some qualifications, but turned to a life of petty crime and pickpocketing.
• Origin of Death: Killed by a stolen car that was speeding down a pedestrian area. Her Tarot card allows her to slow down time and gain the upper hand when faced with enemies.
• Vice: Greed - her desire to steal people's belongings. She can slip into enemy territories undetected and steal objects that she desires. However, the more she uses the power, the more her need to steal increasingly expensive objects increases and the power to be unnoticed weakens. Eventually, she will reach a point where she is so intent on stealing stuff that she will murder people to cover her tracks.
• Weapon: A flaming chainsaw that shoots lasers. Molly wears fireproof gloves and a facial mask when using it to avoid being burnt. It also needs to charge before firing a laser, but the more charge there is, the morse powerful the laser.
• Miscellaneous: She has never been caught stealing.

Hm. Seems like everything is in place. The flaming chainsaw shooting lasers seems a little too wowzers, but since it can burn the user without protection and requires a charge to actually shoot, seems fine.

That means "accepted". :)

@Sixth: Seen changes. Seems like it works now, just... one weapon is enough, really. ^^ Also, while normally Tarot Cards wouldn't burn away your humanity, this effect here is definitely strong enough to warrant such a restriction. Of course, burning away humanity also extends to your ability, just as a precaution.

All in all, accepted.
