new video from Gigguk just dropped:
Ones does not simply replace the Iskai with something as equally as bad!
New theme music also a boxHmm, so since The Beginning After the End has the protagonist of a fantasy world reincarnated as a baby in a different fantasy world, does it count as Regression or as Isekai?
I know you joke, but this type of reductive reasoning feels like its made in poor faith.
Watch SymphogearIt amuses me greatly that he picked Kim Gong-ja, the protagonist of the most high quality/best written regressor series, as the thumbnail image of the video.
That just makes sense though. I haven't watched the video yet, but if he's making a claim to replace the trend, it makes sense to showcase the potential claimant as the Leader everyone will follow.
Its also the one that's hardest to search up without polluting your search bar or flagging google to be concerned about you. Considering its called SSS Class Suicide Hunter. It is to regressor stories what Re:Zero is to isekai.
Its also not one I recommend as an introduction to the genre.
It's the first series he talks about, using what I think is its official English title (at least that is what I have seen other sites use) of SSS-Class Revival Hunter.

Hah, this makes a hilarious contrast with the previous vid posted here.
Isekai aint dead yet, there are quite a few coming out this year.
Isekai can't die it just gets reincarnated into different life..
New theme music also a boxIsekai is still the oversaturated trend of the time. Surprising it hasn't crashed yet, though.
Wake me up at your own risk.Trend came and went, but my God, I think isekai is quite possibly THE single longest lasting anime trend in the 21st century.

it's probably had multiple "crashes" by now but it would more then a bad crash to kill off that particular trend
New theme music also a boxReturners will be the next trend.
then after that, Spirit Cultivation if more Manhua get better anime adaptations that actually have more reach out of China.
Watch SymphogearGigguk's review of Spring anime is here.

Ooh boy, I have a feeling that he won't have good things to say about it.
...As a Sensei, I just made myself sad...

It really does feel special… Not "changed my entire life and worldview" special, but everything in it just feels so heartfelt and sincere.
