Now I want to see a fic of SA and Cadance adjusting to married life, where the main issue is that SA realizes that Cadance is too busy to make lunch for him and he has to cook for himself.

@Kyler: That is true, Applejack is the only one of the Mane 6 who lives with her family. I'd also note that she and Rarity are the only ones who live in the same town/city they grew up in, too, since Twilight is from Canterlot, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash are probably from Cloudsdale and Pinkie is from wherever the rock farm is.

There really isn't much to go on to tell whether or not there is a stigma either way. We haven't seen any examples of ponies who live with their parents but wish they could move out, or parent ponies who wish their young adult offspring would go off and be more independent. I would guess that Rarity is one who moved out as soon as she could, going by her relationship with her parents in Sisterhooves Social, but while we do know that she's used to living alone at her shop in the current time period of the show, we don't know what it was like for her when she first started her boutique.

And now I'm picturing one of those fighting games where the characters tote multi-hit beam super attacks, but in this case, Shining is flinging dozens of totally charred baked bads at his opponent. >.>

Does Rarity live alone? Cus the show goes back and forth on whether Sweetie Belle lives with her or not.

I'm pretty sure the show's been consistent about Sweetie Belle normally living elsewhere and only visiting Rarity. The beginning of "Sisterhooves Social" is pretty clear that Rarity isn't used to having Sweetie around all the time.

Woo. I finished a very difficult, very technical job at school yesterday. I did it without supervision, and when I got it checked, all I needed to do was make a very minor correction. And the best part? I got my time down from three days to three hours. Today's going almost as well.

Good old dwarf style cooking.

I don't think Sweetie Belle has ever been shown living with Rarity. She just visits occasionally.

I'd have to rewatch For Whom The Sweetie Bell Toils to see if it's a guest bedroom or what.

I'd imagine it's a "Yay, sleepovers with big sis!" type dealie. I know I have a friend who goes out to stay over and hang out with his brother for a week or two every half-yearish or so, anyway.

I find it rather impressive that Rarity can afford that huge house all on her own. Especially since she lived there before the series started and she started getting lucrative commissions for pop stars and royal weddings.

Ponyville real estate is probably much cheaper than in the real world.

Yeah Sweetie doesn't live with Rarity, but does spend a lot of time there.

Given how often Ponyville gets trashed, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that construction costs are a good deal cheaper than in real life.

I would like to join this thread. Also, to stay on topic, maybe Rarity took out a loan, and that was part of the reason that she wanted to succeed so much in her dressmaking?

Also, doubt it was a loan, but yeah pony real estate is likely much cheaper then our would be. Exempting maybe the big cities like Canterlot and Manehatten.

Pony real estate in the crystal kingdom has gone up since they got rid of sombra.

Ponyville real estate is cheap because the Everfree is right next door, bringing the demand way down.
