hey whatever works; as long as they don't plan any remakes
my drawing blog ya'll UPDATES 10 TIMES A MONTH WOW, THIS IS STRAIGHT UP MUH SOGGY KNEEGiven modern copyright laws, remakes probably won't happen for a loooooong time he said hoping he wasn't Tempting Fate.
"We're home, Chewie."Glad they're leaving Wizarding Europe. They've got half the fanbase thinking magic is a solely European concept, which leads to some unfortunate implications somewhat.
I've always thought a kind of "world magic" thing would be a great way to expand or continue with Harry Potter - show the various wizard communities in other continents and such with tons of local folklore influence.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I'm still waiting for CONSTANT VIGILANCE! the movie, about the most charismatic character of the franchise.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."It's three hours of Mad Eye blasting random people in the face during totally innocuous situations, like the supermarket.
I'd watch it.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I'd love to see a movie all about Mad-Eye. Or just about any given Harry Potter side character. I don't know if there's a single character that wouldn't be able to carry an entire movie.
"We're home, Chewie."I like this concept a lot.
It's cotinuing the franchise without being a prequel or sequel directly and is simply a piece of world building/expansion
Plus the fact that Rowling is directly writing the script and putting in what she had in mind makes me a lot more happier about this.
I'm on Youtube Reviewing Things Cause I can.I wouldn't mind if they did an animated series at one point...in a way, the books are made for one...but since JKR is totally against such a thing, it sadly wont happen anytime soon.
Who knows, it the first Scamander movie works out, they might do a sequel about the adventures of Rolf Scamander, too....I certainly wouldn't mind meeting an adult Luna Lovegood.
Tell you what, re-reading Fantastic Beasts, I would love to see what someone like Del Toro could do with it.
Schild und Schwert der ParteiSo I ran into a couple people yesterday who had heard about the movie and were all like "Man, this movie's gonna suck! Why would anyone give a shit about some textbook? Why can't they make a movie about Voldemort's childhood or something like that?"
I'm now curious how the general public will react to a movie that decides not to be the generic prequel/sequel tripe more people expect. Need more evidence dammit.

A movie about Voldemort's childhood would worry me. Not only do we already know the most important aspects, we also know how it ends from the get go.
In the end, it will depend on the actual story, which will be pretty much an original one with some known elements thrown in. I just hope that they don't rely an CGI effects too much. The movies tended to go over the top with those scenes, like the makers thought "we have put all out efforts into this dragon, now we HAVE to show it as long as possible, even if it doesn't make any sense, slows down the pacing and adds nothing to the actual plot".
A movie about Voldemort's childhood wouldn't be very marketable either. The man is one of the most obvious expies of Hitler in the history of fiction, and literally every single viwer I've met can recognize that, so a movie about pseudo-Hitler's rise to power wouldn't be very easy to sell to general audiences.
Even I, and I'm very fond of darker stories and villain origins, think it's way too dark to make into a movie without alienating everyone.
Now, I still think Harry Potter should get a tv-series about the Aurors hunting dark wizards across the magical (and muggle, one assumes) world.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."^ Definitely. A show set a couple years after Voldemort's defeat, with Harry and co. living their lives, hunting down remnant Death Eaters and protecting the wizarding and Muggle worlds would be awesome.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Dear god.
Superman/Batman/Dumbledore. This needs to happen.
Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent.Does that mean the Joker, Luthor, and Voldemort teamed up as well?
"What a century this week has been." - Seung Min KimI'd say we still have another 15 years before anyone is comfortable with using the Joker again.
"War without fire is like sausages without mustard." - Jean Juvénal des UrsinsJoker: "That tight cloak must be cutting off oxygen to your brain! I may be a criminal lunatic, but I'm a Muggle criminal lunatic!"
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Yeah, like anyone waited fifteen years after Christopher Reeves' death.
I must say, I am feeling rather excited about this.
Sticking hundreds of millions of dollars on a franchise film that doesn't have any of the characters from that franchise is a fairly big risk for a major studio to take these days, and for that alone I can only applaud the fact that someone in Hollywood clearly still has some balls.
Frankly, I hope that the new Star Wars films have the guts to go the same way.
And let us pray that come it may (As come it will for a' that)Considering that Harry Potter Fans lap up more or less everything which has to do with the world JKR created, it's not that big of a risk. After all, the appeal of the franchise is only partly the characters and to a huge margin the world itself.
Christopher Reeves didn't die immediately after filming wrapped up on Superman II.

"War without fire is like sausages without mustard." - Jean Juvénal des UrsinsIt helps that there are a lot of worldbuilding things that Rowling created but never actually put into the books. There are a surprisingly large amount of characters whose stories could fill up a movie, and that's not even going into totally original plots like this one is evidently going to be.
But if we don't finally get a Lethifold in this movie...
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. Then I bet it will be split into three parts a few months from now.
DumboThe movie, or the lethifold?
''All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us..."
I don't really care whether or not its "just" an attempt to get more money out of the franchise.
I care that the franchise is continuing.
Seriously, from my perspective, this thing's existence is just pure fanservice, and I'm entirely all right with that. I am extremely hype for this.
Also, not only is this a breath of fresh air in a stagnant franchise, Fantastic Beasts had some really cool and unique monsters in it. I'm excited to find out which ones they'll be depicting in the movie (I doubt they'll have time to show every creature described in the book).
"We're home, Chewie."
