Serious interest checking on a Super Robot Wars RP based on tokusatsu

You mean the characters after their respective series? I guess so. I don't know if that can answer things.

What about when the end of the show has them without their powers? That's usually a common thing, especially in Power Rangers.

True with some of them like the original Black Ranger aka Zack Taylor.

I could handwave it in that a cosmic force brought their powers back for one last fight. How does that sound?

Yeah. If you want, my other suggestion is to take the character prior to "loosing" their ranger powers. But they'll be from another universe.

To be honest, I'm not sure I like the idea of characters being from the end of their series. The problem with taking characters from that point is...well...some of them are dead, some of them are depowered and...some of them could easily punch the Earth hard enough that it explodes. On top of that, this might just be me but...I kinda like the idea of the characters getting stronger as things go on, rather than starting out as the unbeatable badasses that some of them end up as (and I assume it'd be easier to challenge them with MoTWs if they don't have the powers they had when they beat their respective big bads).

And taking the characters from before the end of their series and saying they show up from another universe can cause problems of its own if they need something from their universe to get to their later power levels.

Well the other, other choice is to take them from the time they got their powers perhaps. Anyway, the RP is going to be based on Super Robot Wars after all. But I this is a possible problem is certain characters are taken from series where the heroes are confirmed dead/retired (e.g. Jetman comes to mind).

Maybe I'll roll with this.

Although I'm not sure how I can tangle up anyone choosing Power Rangers characters into this crossover. VR Troopers aren't probably not much of a problem. But that's me. In the meantime, I'll just wait and see.

Well, the Super Sentai show found away to bring back Black Condor, Abarekiller, and Timefire for one last fight... It's only a matter of explaining how.
