I am too much of a bleeding heart to buy this game. It looks so sad! But so awesome! Dammit, damn me and my bleeding heartness
I would buy it for my father, but he only uses Mac.
It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesThe Let's Play I'm watching of it right now makes it look pretty fun. And the driving sections always make me laugh because of the classical music and Mickey Mousing XD
Right in the feels.
Is it just me but when you play as Karl it seems like he's calling the dog "Wog".
Lights out, Ibiza. It's a fun game.
It alternates rather well between soul-crushing sad and Actually Pretty Funny, between cartoon pulp and intimate drama.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Just finished the game.
This is Mass Effect levels of emotionally compelling. Except they didn't botch the ending, so arguably it's even better!
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.I wonder if they'll make a sequel with Freddie and a green American recruit.
... I like the balance of nationalities as it is, thank you very much.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Nah. There's this nasty habit of making Americans more important than they were to the Great War as it is.
i. hear. a. sound. What I'd like would be to hear the German, Russian, Turkish, and so on, side of things.
Some focus on the Moroccan troops would be nice.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.We already got the German side.
And it doesn't have to focus exclusively on America
Though a Russian soldier with conflicting loyalties when the Revolution breaks out would also be a good DLC chapter.
That would be fantastic.
i. hear. a. sound.Does anyone know what is the cheapest this game gets during Steam Sales? I am getting it for my father. I have a good reason for it. Would you guys describe this as the sort of game that is easy to playfor a 50+ year old man who can play turn based strategy games? Does it require loooooads of quicktime events and such or can anyone pick it up?
It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesHaven't played it myself in spite of how much I want to, so I can't help you there. Think I'll await the holidays to start.
I played it a few months ago. I liked it, got all of the achievements (though getting the last one (saving Karl's life without making mistakes) gave me fits) and would recommend to schools as a "This is why we celebrate Veteran's Day" visual aid.
But...was it easy to play? Again, I intend to give it to a 60 year old person :P Fast reaction requirements will just frustrate him.
It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesYeah, pretty easy to play. Most of the stuff is just timing and being able to interpret pictures xD
It's very easy to play.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Awesome. Thank you very much.
My father loves war stuff. And he recently got himself a lot of free time, due to a heart attack.
"Valiant Hearts" seems like an appropriate title for the situation.
It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesGive him also This War Of Mine and Spec Ops The Line. He should have a fun time -snerk-.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.As I have not played those games, I do not get the snerking joke implied there. Sorry.
It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesThey're very interesting but depressing Anti-War games, and neither has the festive fun of Valiant Hearts. One is basically Apocalypse Now IN DUBAI.
The other is a Zombie Survival Game except with war instead of zombies, but you protagonists are still looters and the game forces you to rob other groups just to survive (which is one major way in which the game is said to differ from, say, the Sarajevo experience, where people were much more solidary and friendly to each other than they ever were in peace time.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. They do not sound like the easy kind of game to play :P
It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesNo, they're both very accessible, especially the latter, but you might benefit from watching a Let's Play or two. But yeah, Valiant Hearts is totally Entry-Level, and fun as all Hell.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
Good plan. I hope we get a decently sized page going- it's been really difficult to find an image, they're often way too big.
