Well, this thread sure is quiet now that I have to compete with hardcore house projects like the Kill La Kill thread. So, who's your favorite digi hero outta all seasons?(No flame wars, please.)
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceGuh, they're not even trying to keep the attack names for the DigiCards consistent. How the hell do you forget what Garurumon's attack is?

When American producers start to not give a fuck anymore. Still doesn't make it any less amazing.
So, Fave Digimon monster? Mine would have to be either Durulumon or Shoutmon for their better than last characters personalities.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceMarcus.
And maybe its just the design, but I always likes Cerberumon.
Well, to be fair, this season also doesn't have the normal Power Levels or even Digivolution Levels that come with it(in many cases, they matter).
I wasn't expecting it to be hyper consistent with previous ones. It's silly, though. Garurumon is clearly a wolf(or at least dog). Why would he use Fox Fire(I keep forgetting if they're feline or canine, so this is barely justifiable? If they're both canine... they seriously went on a stretch with the naming). I agree it was a bad rename. At least RedMeramon makes sense, since they were next to BlueMeramon. Less confusing for the viewers, basically. If the Blue-colored one gets Blue, why wouldn't the Red-colored one get Red?
It's not like they didn't want to try.
Also, yes, a fox is in the canine family, but it's more cat-like.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceWell, Fox Fire isn't a really regular type of fire either. It's some kind of mythical(if you will, basically unnatural, mystical, whatever. I forget exactly what term was used) type of fire. Garurumon doesn't even use regular fire, he often uses ice or technically sound(It is called Howling Blaster for a reason). All that's just an allusion to his name, which is based upon Growling.
Doesn't help they re-used the term Growl for two more specific Digimon(and their lines as well), Growlmon(dur?) and Gururumon, which is the same thing, and he's even just a recolor.
Ok, I get it. It's a sucky way to rehash characters, but it still doesn't ruin the quality of the writing, which isn't the same as the character itself.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceNobody said the writing was good.
We're saying it may be some honest mistakes. Or there may be more reasons. For all we know, they didn't do the research.
And besides those errors, I thought the writing was overall pretty good. And even then, it didn't honestly seem bad at all. I love SkullMeramon's dialogue myself. It's pretty much a Gag Dub at this point, and does a good job at that, imo.
I think it would tank a lot harder and would be pretty obvious to catch if they didn't do the research. In either case, it's way more entertaining(IMHO)than the original, with it's by the numbers bland characters(Mainly the kids. They would have been perfect extras in an episode of Poke Mon.)
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceExtras are supposed to have more character depth than the main characters?
I think the main problem with Fusion's inconsistencies is that the people behind the show are entirely different, and since they weren't involved in the prior series they haven't gone into it with much knowledge of the past seasons. These people were most likely too old to have been interested Digimon Adventure when it first came out.
It really seems as though Ben Diskin (Shoutmon's VA) is the only one working on the dub who actually is a fan of the series.

Valid logic
Today's dub on "A rival champion" was pretty similar to the Gag Dub feel some fans give it. Mikey's backstory about that sick kid was pretty lame, since, if I know anime, I'm pretty sure the kid in the original sub DIDN'T LIVE the next day. Beastmon was sexy/cute/hawt as Hell. She seems like the kind of catgirl who would be to lazy to mind getting humped on. And Laylamon still doesn't have her boobs in this dub. Has there EVER been a scene in this Genre where the 'mon falls for it's human companion?
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceDid Bastemon look like this◊
You look happy, I can change that if you want.Yes, moreless.

GODDAMN YOU, NICKTOONS! YOU CAN'T DO SHIT RIGHT!
Edit: What anime is your "werefox" avatar from, you've had it for awhile.

Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceShe is my namesake as well. Name Saya she is from Namco x Capcom, Endless Frontier and Project X Zone.
You look happy, I can change that if you want. She's beautiful. And Saya doesn't look bad either!
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceActually, the kid lived in the Japanese version too, though he was out of school for half a year because of his injury.
Oh, well remember, I never watched the sub. Still, the dub changed it to just THE NEXT FUCKING DAY instead of that.
What anime did your avatar come from?Very smexy.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceYeah, they could've kept it a bit longer...
(Re: my avatar. It's actually not from an anime, but rather is a piece of Kamen Rider fan art, featuring a genderswapped maid version of Kamen Rider 2. You can see the full pic here.)
To bring back up my last question, where there ever any Digis, besides Bastemon, that found a human "cute"?
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceSukamon and Chuumon. I don't think I need to go further than that.
I was kinda spending all episode wondering why Knightmon's grandoise ham seemed so familiar...and then I saw the credits. Here's a hint.
I hope he was paid hansomly for the Hell he had to put up with in Kid dub limbo.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceWell, Travis probably is for one show, but it's not this one. ^^;
Ah Bastemon. Our Zone villain this time around is Ice Devimon
