This is the discussion thread for "All's Quiet On The Supernatural Front."

A few guidelines:

1. Roleplaying is, by nature, collaborative storytelling. This means that I expect a civil atmosphere. Disputes can and should be resolved without raised voices or hurt feelings.
2. The game will be freeform and play-by-post. I'm relying on everyone to know how this works. No auto-hitting, no ghosting, no god-moding (no, not even if you summon a literal god. I'll not have it, mark my words!)
3. As the GM, I reserve the right and extraordinary priveliege to invoke the spirit of Jim Butcher and make this the worst weekend in your characters' lives. And I will do so. Over and over and over. That said, if someone has any ideas for future character developments, refinements, physical or emotional torture and the like, feel free to send me a PM with ideas. My door's open, so to speak.
4. The rules above also apply to rules questions and the like. If you want my opinion on something attached to the story, or you're worried that someone might be playing a little too fast and loose with the (very limited) rules, shoot me a PM and I'll give my thoughts eventually.
5. I don't mind people getting off-topic (I do that all the time myself and will probably do so a lot,) but if someone has something pertaining to the RP itself they wish to discuss, please get back on-topic or at least stop being off-topic. Discussions on other kinds of media or other RP's are fine, but keep the above rule in mind.
6. I trust people to not completely forget about spelling and grammar when you're playing.
7. If a player doesn't most for more than three days without prior warning, the GM will ASSUME DIRECT CONTROL of the character until the player returns.
8. Have fun. Fun is mandatory. Not having fun will result in immediate rehabilitation.

I missed the part where Josiah was supposed to have a rifle, but since he can't veil that without breaking it, I went with him carrying his bow and quiver of arrows that he can veil.

@God of Awesome: If your dude's magic comes from his goblin half it won't damage technology if he uses it to veil is weapons. So, they would be fine. If however his magical talent comes from his mortal half, well, they'd still probably be fine. Firearms aren't the most complicated pieces of engineering out there after all. Also, this is taking place in WW 2 and firearms then I'm pretty sure were more robust and simple then firearms now.

As someone that has never done a play-by-post before, I have a few quick questions about the rules.

I assume "no auto-hitting" means you write "X aimed for Y and pulled the trigger" instead of "X shot Y" so that whoever controls Y determines if it hit. I assume no "god-moding" means "No being an all-powerful invincible guy." Do I have those right?

Also, what does "no ghosting" mean?

You're correct. And no ghosting just means 'no ignoring any damage inflicted.'

Oh, I had been wondering what that meant. I've always filed that under god-modding. In fact I file a lot of things under god-modding. Being way more powerful then everyone else. Dodging everything, being unharmed by everything, excessive metagaming, retconing stuff, taking control of others characters, and so on and so forth.

And I guess Boris will continue to wait before making himself known. So, I'm probably not gonna bother with a post unless you want me to.

@Kosjurake: I suspected as such. I'm thinking about adding a weakness to Josiah that his mortal half interferes with his goblin magic to make it more techbane on direct application, but it won't do anything to tech if the magic is merely around it.

Yes.

Anton is a bit of a hardass where the Laws are concerned. But thats probably a good description of the Council at large during the timeframe.

Executing a guy because 'Hey, he probably broke one of the laws anyway'?

Sounds to me like you're roleplaying a Warden properly.

He's a Kemmlerite. I think reasonable doubt went out of the window the moment he signed up on their little lonely hearts club.

Also, so far Anton only assumes that he will find Evidence of Law Breaking :P If not he may consider capture.

I'm not criticizing. Just killing the Kemmlerite before he can try anything seems like the best plan to me. Just one more instance where the Wardens, though harsh, are probably in the right.
