With Nightvale you can never be sure that it's not both things somehow.

I think the point is to further the contrast between Kevin and Cecil. Kevin thinks he can bring Desert Bluffs back just by naming the new town after it — to him, the name is everything. Cecil, however, learns from Carlos that the town's name doesn't mean anything, it's what's in the town that matters.

I noticed a lot of contrasts between the two of them, actually. Kevin has lost his hometown and wants it back, whereas Cecil is in his hometown but wants to leave.

"We're home, Chewie."

Well, they were rather deliberately set up as foils to each other. Or rather Kevin was set up as a foil to Cecil.

So Is Janice some sort of Gadgeteer Genius mastermind Child Prodigy or is creating this sort of plan and a stealth wheel chair something eleven year olds can just do in Night Vale?

So the rumour about Mr. Baldwin having a bit part on Gravity Falls is true Tad Strange is perfectly normal and also likes bread.

I was like legit on the verge of tears for the first time ever when listening to this show. Albiet up till now I was at the Archive Binge stage.

I like that the mobile radio equipment was mentioned again in this ep. I wonder if (s)he is what Carlos was buying dog food for in the 2nd audiobook preview.

I have very recently gotten the book. I fear I may spend my waking hours doing nothing but reading the book. They will fear what I will become. Books truly are dangerous.

I don't know Remembrance Day (in some ways) logically Nightvale Remembrance Day is weirder. I think it helped to think of it as a combination Remembrance Day assembly combined with parade but with the customary Nightvale weirdness (explicitly pro-war and pro a war that will happen in the future in space because Nightvale).

Started the podcost on a whim. Then I'll be able to go check out the book.

Ah, Cecil. He's a bit of a sociopath isn't he.

I may have spoiled myself with some fanart of him, so I'm thinking that he might be like an alien or something.

A) There's only ever slight description of him, so fanart can vary widely.

B) What kind of being he is has been intentionally ambiguous.

Right, I'm trying to compare what's probably happening with what Cecil only THINKS is happening.

A main theme about Welcome to Night Vale seems to be "satisfaction in existence". At the end of every broadcast Cecil tends to wax poetic about how anybody who's survived through the crisis of the night survived through the crisis of the night. So that even when citizens of the town are living in constant terror of whatever's happening at the moment, they can take solace in the fact that at least they're living.

I rather like that.

Yes it is pleasant in a way.

Listening to so much Night Vale is putting my thoughts into Cecil's voice.

I don't hate it, but...
