Let me tell a little about Autralian wildlife
It's true that we have lots of venomous spiders and snakes. However, I'm 17 right now and I've never seen a venomous snake in the wild and only spiders a few times. Huntsmans are the spiders that get really big, but they're not particularly venomous. Doesn't stop them being scary as all hell, though. So on the wildlife side, I'm sure I'll be pretty all right. I think emus and kangaroos will give me the right idea for bears and stuff: keep your distance and they'll keep theirs.
Thanks for the discussion, though!
But tell me this: how much like the camp in The Addams Family Values is mine likely to be? Heh heh heh
Now I'm off to spread my teachings to more sissy do-gooders!Not much. And please don't continue derails.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.rule of thumb with snakes in the US is that if the have eyes with slits they've got poison, if they have round pupils it's not. that just determines how fast you should rush to the hospital though because even non-poisonous bites have a tendency to cause infections, and there are rule breakers.
I'm baaaaaaack
If I was camping there I would like to know about on going environmental problems and how they might relate to me.
I actually grew up in the Southeast and went camping several times as a kid, and I'd never heard of them until now. It's definitely not something you'll actually have to worry about. (Besides, the loss of Louisana's wetlands has more to do with the oil industry.)
I would give silly advice about Guyana, but it's obscure enough that I don't think it even has any stereotypes, apart from the fact that many people mistakenly think it's in Africa.
As for actual advice about visiting the USA, I'd say find out where you're going and ask people there. There's too much difference, especially with issues like climate which you'll be concerned about while camping.
