The original truck driver has been confirmed shot by the party responsible, a Pakistani.

It seems the Turkish assassin is now all over FB as a meme for...well, everything.

Questionable source...I would say, we will get a complete picture tomorrow. There isn't much sense in chasing rumors at this point. Now is the time to think of the victims, anything else has to wait until the Police makes an official statement.

If true, I bet the right wing is going to spin this as the fault of the Syrian refugees anyway.

It certainly won't matter...if it is an Islamic attack, this would be the first time an attack in Germany was successful enough that people actually died...so far, most attacks either failed, were prevented or the attacker could be taken out before he could do more than injure.

An anonymous Turkish official has already tried to link the killer with Gulen.

Some sources are saying he might be Afghani. Some are saying he is a refugee, and I'm really hoping that's not true.

Saw photos of what happened in Turkey. The assassin appears to be from a close protection team.

Don't know if it's from the national police or General Directorare of Security.

People comparing the embassy attack to archduke Franz Ferdinand miss that heir to the crown in a monarchy where the monarch was strong (in a quite different way than for example the UK today, where the monarch don't have active role in the daily political life) was something different than an ambassador, especially so when the 19th century was still practically yesterday.

The rogue officer shouted Allahu Akhbar after he shot the Russian ambassador from the back.

The FSB is gonna investigate the attack in Ankara and they called in a terror attack.

Someone used a shotgun and opened fire in front of the American embassy 8-9 times. He shouted "Don't test us!" in Turkish.

I'd say that Erdogan flirt with the radical Islamists is biting his ass but the man is really good at deflecting the blame away from his policies.

I found a few of them amusing though, one of the photoshops I've seen was putting the guy on the cover of Reservoir Dogs.

While I don't really see the humour in this, it might be a good thing if people actually laugh about the terror. "Teach me laughter, save my soul." Sometimes a laugh is the only weapon one has left. And it certainly beats hatred.

Urghs, I'm getting angry at the german news/fb feeds who act like this is the first time we had a big terror attack in Germany this year.

But hey, Munich doesn't count because that was a motivated by the right, right?

I'm not saying this is not a tragedy, it is....I'm just angry that this will be trotted out as tragedy for years to come while every attack on refugee homes or other far-right-related incidents get forgotten after a month.

Because apparently there is a right and a wrong type of Brown terror.

The color of the shirt vs that of the skin?

It's an attack on Christmas, easily the most important celebration in Germany, and a symbol for peace and forgiveness. You can bet that this will get attention.

I'm seeing reports that the German police have now confirmed that the suspect is not the attacker and that the actual attacked is armed and at large.

Zurich shooter has been found dead, said by police there to have had numerous petty convictions and an obsession with "occult paraphernalia". No other info, sounds like it might have been a lunatic targeting minorities perhaps.

A part of me is going conspiracy mode on this. I may be wrong but

• The Attack is similar to a previous one one in France and to what Daesh seems to put on the net, ie what everyone can research
• The truck was rented from Poland, which is hardly a country that seems to have a big islamistic terror infrastructure
• The co-drover was shot
• Right after it happens a eye witness points at a man who fits the islamic terrorist stereotype.

I'm not saying this is what happens, or that is is even likely. But if it comes out that this is some big bullshit neo-nazi false flag op, I will not be surprised.

Especially since the A-fucking-D is already blaming every last refugee for it.

It'd be really infuriating if the actual killer was white and was able to walk away from the scene because someone pointed at the nearest brown person.

Seems like the Zurich shooter has no known connection to ISIS but the whole investigation has just begun.
