Poor Image: Samurai Ponytail

It's kinda small, and hard to tell at first that his hair is the right style, and yeah.

Something like this might be better if we can get permission sketch

I think in this case, Haohmaru's might be a little too big in that one might accidentally mistake it for just being free-flowing hair and miss the ribbon itself. In this regard, I think Genjuro might make a better candidate.

His hair doesn't look quite right, it's situated a little low on his head(at least, IMO).

That's a good one. Got emphasis on the ponytail, especially if you crop it somewhat high. Also a very pretty image.

I think you did some formatting errors there.

No to both of 14:

• The lack of colour is not appealing.
• There is no ponytail visible.

None of them are even close to 9/12. Lack of focus on the ponytail, lots of other stuff going on, and worse quality.

It seems like the examples in 14 should have their own page to me. In my mind, the long ponytail like Lu Meng has is visual shorthand for "this guy's a warrior-type," while not being samurai-exclusive. Lu Meng isnt a samurai, for instance. The hairstyle they have in 14, on the other hand, is just a really common hairstyle for Japanese men in feudal times.
