Not yet. The last product I bought from Hanako Games was Date Warp. But yeah, from what I read, LLTQ has the difficulty and deaths of a Sierra On-Line game, as well as both the cuteness and the depressing horror of Madoka Magica.
Sounds fucked up. I want it. I played Princess Maker 2 and I was proud when I successfully made my daughter the general, just as planned.
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984I really want to play this game. Especially since Pricess Maker 2 refuses to work on Windows 8 even with DOS Box.
But I have no monies :(
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."I never actually beat it. I managed to get close to the end, but hit a dead (heh) end. I never manage to get that far again afterwards.
Beating it on your first try is practically impossible. It's very trial-and-error prone and relies that you learn from your mistakes (like, where can Elodie get killed and which skills are important to prevent that). That not every event happens on every playthrough (as far as I know, they aren't random, though, but depend on your choices) doesn't help. Despite (or because?) this, I think it's a pretty good games.
In any case, it's my favorite regicide simulator.
People aren't as awful as the internet makes them out to be.It takes crapsaccharine and fucked up to a whole new level. I particularly love our trope page's description.
... and watching her be assassinated.
It took me several tries to figure out what's needed to survive the really dangerous bits, but now I can make it to victory reliably. If I want to win, of course. ;)
It's an awesome game. I beat it on my second try, but that was because I built Elodie as a ruthless combat monster and chose the easiest options; it boiled down to me making a sad little girl an ANGRY little girl, and turning the country into Fantasy Prussia.
I felt bad. :D
It's also been picked up by Steam Greenlight, though it's not been released yet. The dev is currently adding a couple of new characters and related plot threads. She's also adding in some extra artwork. I'm hoping for more cute chibi deaths.

The Cynical Brit did a "research stream" on Twitch today. He chose this game to "research" for (what I assume is) a WTF is video. That, and his wife Genna kinda forced him into it.
I didn't catch the live stream on time, but from what I've heard, it's quite amusing. And also unexpected from a guy who normally doesn't deal with anime or animesque media.
Its also a game where you will die a lot Seriously, game is tailored to "Dang it, I failed because of this check? Okay, I'll just raise these stat- Oh god dang it". Though there are a lot of hidden stuff behing background that you might not notice unless you play game multiple times with different skills or check the wiki.
I know that. I just heard that TB's own experience with the game was amusing and so was the mere idea of a guy like him playing a game like this.
I know! Especially since it does have the whole cute pink paint over it despite rather horrific subject matter when you think about it. I mean, would be more boring if he was playing Magical Diary in which case it would be regular "Guy playing really girly game" situation
For what it's worth, bear-taming confirmed for next game.
I have to say, I could see my self playing the game a few times after some meticulous min-max planning. After that, I would make my friends play it whenever I had company over.
Artificial Intelligence is no match for Natural Stupidity. Here is the first part of TB's stream in his wife cannel:
I tried to watch the second part in his Twitch cannel but it says something about suscribing and doesn't load.

Yeah, you need to subscribe to his channel for $5/month in order to access VO Ds and some other stuff.
Anyway, he also released a WTF Is today, just like I thought he would.
And here is Part Two!
I think my sister will like this game but I know the game is dark and easy to die, so my question is if the game is apropiate for little girls.
Not unless you think Game of Thrones is appropriate for little girls, if you ask me.
If you think your little sis won't be disturbed or scared by the content or frustrated at the frequent deaths, then maybe she should try it.
If you think she'll like it for the art style, you might be able to find a game with a similar art-style that isn't so dark.

Artificial Intelligence is no match for Natural Stupidity.Magical Diary is probably a good choice if you just like the art style. Made by the same people, and still reasonably difficult, but not of the "Dying is fun" variety this game is.
I think she would probably be frustrated by the deaths. I though she would like the game because of similar games (in the sense of raising a princess and the art style) she have played on the DS.
I will check Magical Diary and see if she likes it, thanks.
I beat the game by becoming a wizard and nuking all my problems away. Yaaaaaaay
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." Twitter@Discar: The art there on the Magical Diary page looks great. Which is the playable character?

Bear taming? So that explains it, the Paradox devs are moonlighting for Hanako to make their Secret Bear DLC a reality.
But yeah, as an avid Crusader Kings II fan, LLTQ is, despite the art, a more violent and more difficult take on life as a medieval ruler.
None; she's customizable, so doesn't show up in promotional material.
Has anyone played this? I admit, I was a bit put off by the veneer of pink lace it has going on but it's actually a particularly brutal stat-raising simulation game.
If you haven't heard of it, Long Live The Queen is about Crown Princess Elodie trying to survive the weeks leading up to her coronation after her mother's sudden death... And nearly everyone is trying to assassinate you, usurp your throne or otherwise take advantage of you for political reasons. It's kinda like Princess Maker meets Game Of Thrones with plenty of different stats and choices affecting the ending.
I find it pretty addictive due to how easy it is to fail. Took me at least four tries before I finally "won".
