i've only seen Mercy fight Harley once (in STAS), and i'd say Mercy won that one.

The only Mercy/Harley fight I've ever seen in comics, set shortly after Harley's debut and No Man's Land, ended up in a draw... when Joker hit them both with a limousine.

Yeah, aside from his punk-ish look, he was a sunny-side superhero, someone who basically lived off of his own celebrity and knew how awesome it was to be a clone of Superman. Minimal angst, and he was one of the founders of the original Young Justice, which (ironic compared to where the animated series ended up) was the lighthearted super-team of the time, compared to the heavier "Titans" stories (again, reverse of the animated series).

@Saint Deltora That was my main problem with that arc. Not that Clark was distant from Connor but that the writers never allowed him to express these thoughts.

windleopard: Greg expressed once in an Ask Greg post that if he had more time and one hour episodes rather than half-an-hour he would have spent some time on it.

So, it seems it was considered at some point but Greg gave up on it when he found more important stuff to consider. A shame, but given how stellar the rest of the show is... I am not complaining much.

Anyways, how many people actually want Batman and Superman to have a fight with each other? Versus those who don't care or would rather that they just be friends. Let's not even think about the slash fans.

Well, That's why I am totally behind using the concept in the movie...it was already great the first time around, but it would be even better if they would redo it with both perspectives and more interactions.

I'd like it if they have two fights. One with a physical confrontation between Clark and Bruce, and the other more cerebral. With Bruce trying to dissect Clark on a psychological level.

Then, they both could win a fight! Maybe.

I'm just here for the symbolic conflict and buildup for future movies, and I expect any action scenes between the two to be unimaginative at worst and underwhelming with one or two good moments at best - followed by a subpar scene of them tag-teaming either Lex in a powersuit or Doomsday!Zod - and that scene will be full of plenty of BS to drag that fight out longer.

I'm mostly going to judge this movie on its actors and characterizations - which despite my tone, I expect to be pretty awesome. I'd actually be more hyped if this was a courtroom drama and not a flat out Versus movie with obligatory fights that even Alfred acknowledges are pointless and stupid.

Yeah, but in this continuity, everyone has legitimate reason to be afraid of Superman and the only person with any assurance is Lois. And even then.

Oh yeah, I'll give the movie credit based on what we've seen thus far. The fights at least look justified - which is the case for most comic book films. It's just I'm not an action movie guy beyond swordfights and stuff, so I'm mostly bored by superheroes fighting and am more drawn to tense psychological crap like in the Dark Knight or...well, courtroom dramas.

And don't get me wrong, a courtroom drama between Bats and Supes would be the stupidest thing ever unless it was like an AU story or something. But I can just get a lot more emotionally and mentally invested in it than I can a fifteen minute long fight scene between a guy in a powered bat costume and a dude in a cape - no matter how badass either one is.

Who would win in a guilt trip fight? Meaning, which is more vulnerable to getting guilt tripped.

Spider-Man.

He's not even in this universe, but he'll make an exception the moment he hears that there's a guilt contest going on and swing by to win it.

If you make it an eating contest, you might see Goku guest star.

[up] And Kirby . . . also Luffy as long as its meat . . . and Homer Simpson . . . and Amythest (the cartoon one, not the DC one) . . . and the Flash from the CW universe who after running super fast and avoiding the Black Racer (who happens to be DC lawyers) ended up in the DCCU famished and wanting to eat right now.

Kirby will most likely win due to his stomach being a literal black hole and has the main power of eating.

I accept that.

I would even accept the courtroom idea if Tony Stark, Matt Murdock, and Harvey Dent somehow make it to the stand.

As I've said before, the abbreviation of versus as v. is clearly indicating that the film will be about Batman suing Superman for plagiarizing the Dark Knight Trilogy.

To be fair, Superman did break some buildings he probably owned.

Though it also means the film's stepping into grimdark territory by implying Superman's become so disgusted with the American justice system he refuses to honor his court date.

And that's interesting because - the only times I've seen Superman be "un-American" were in the Injustice video game, and an alternate universe where he was raised Communist.

"Well, That's why I am totally behind using the concept in the movie...it was already great the first time around, but it would be even better if they would redo it with both perspectives and more interactions."

Honestly.... I really don't think it was the first time through. It could have been if they did what you are suggesting but for one reason or another it wasn't.

For various reasons I doubt it will be used in the movies. For one, that version of Clark is pretty controversial. They wouldn't want to connect themselves to such a controversial version of him as that would bring about certain elements they'd like to avoid in how they are seen. Second, this Clark is already different enough from him, so if they really wanted to use it they would have to focus on Conner first and make the reasons for why Conner would react like that differently. Which would likely come across worse for Conner.

Third, Greg's main reason why he couldn't focus on that was due to lack of time. It's true that YJ only had 30 minute episodes. But the first season of it also had 16 (correct me if I am wrong) episodes all of which really add up. And all of which help in showing different sides of each member of the Team. Conner included.

I did like Conner, but what helped me grow so fond of him wasn't just his interactions with Clark, but also his relationship with M'gann, his surprising moments of kindness, his various shows of intelligence, etc.

If they wanted to take inspiration from Young Justice and put that arc in it, they'd have to focus a proportionally much larger amount of time to make it work. As a movie on it would only be likely 2 and a half hours long. Rather than 16 episodes each of 30 minutes.
