I am excited.
I hope they cast Batman well. I will miss Baleman.
"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."In a mind-twisting decision, it'll be Gordon-Lewitt playing Bruce Wayne.
I so called this last year.
The last hurrah? Nah, I'd do it again. You don't get any credit for that though. It's kind of a no brainer. Tons of people "called" it.
I keep reading things this is inspired by Dark Knight Returns in some sense. Is that inaccurate buzz?
To Be Updated when I'm not LazyThey used this line from Returns:
To introduce the announcement, giving off the implication that some inspiration might come from Returns

I listened to the audio from that announcement. It sounded less like the movie would be inspired by TDKR and more like they were using one of Batman's most badass/iconic lines to hype up the audience.
Honestly we would have been hyped just with "Clark". Use a Kevin Conroy line from Justice League or one of the Superman/Batman animated flicks.
That gives the right mood, hypes the audience and gives the huge WHAM.
To Be Updated when I'm not LazyUnless they wanted the mood to be slightly antagonistic, then this is the perfect line.
The movie will almost certainly have a Let's You and Him Fight sequence, followed by the realization that they're both Working the Same Case. It's a trope as old as comics themselves. Even Whedon realized the big, dumb appeal of "Tee-hee, let's have Thor punch out Iron Man!" in the Avengers.

I predict the following:
Luthor is up to something and is trying to form some kind of partnership with Wayne Industries. Bruce doesn't trust him so he goes undercover as Batman to investigate what he's up to. Superman is also investigating and the two attack each other because they think the other is working for Luthor. Eventually they realize they're on the same side and team up to take him down. Following this they part ways but Batman devises a way for them to contact each other if there's ever trouble. We then see Batman studying up on some of the heroes that are popping up like Flash (whose movie takes place around the same time in Universe), Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern while Superman gets some kind of indication that Darkseid is setting his sights on Earth.
Aw man, and I really wanted my "credit". /sarcasm
The last hurrah? Nah, I'd do it again."Undercover as Batman", huh?
Now I'm picturing Bruce Wayne dressed up as Batman wearing a Ninja Turtles-style fedora and Conspicuous Trench Coat.
And let us pray that come it may (As come it will for a' that)I'm saying that he's secretly investigating Luthor. He does this as Batman so people don't realize Bruce Wayne is suspicious of them. I just worded it weird.

(Depending on the Writer) Bruce Wayne doesn't dress up as Batman; Batman dresses up as Bruce Wayne.
That being said, I wonder if they will have a new Bruce Wayne/Batman in the film or if Joseph Gordon Levitt will be Robin!Batman.
One thing that would make an adaptation of the comic's showdown hard to work is that there (so far) is no such thing as Kryptonite in the MOS verse.

Edit, edit, edit, edit the wikiThey've already said countless times that the Nolanverse won't be connected to this new DCCU. Let the meme die people.
I wasn't aware there had been such a statement.
In that case, I wonder how they will set up Batman, since he wasn't mentioned in MOS (although Bruce Wayne indirectly was).
Edit, edit, edit, edit the wikiIt's possible to write a Batman/Superman fight without kryptonite. Just have Batman use some sort of sonic weapon to attack Superman's enhanced senses.
In the Smallville season 11 comics Batman used red sunlight from his own suit to fight Superman.
With the benefit of time travel, I would watch this in a heartbeat if it was directed by Tim Burton and starred Margot Kidder, Christopher Reeve and Michael Keaton. Since it isn't and doesn't star any of those, I think I will pass.
Word of God has said Kryptonite does exist in the new movieverse, it's just we haven't seen it yet.
My question is who's gonna play Batman? Christian Bale left some pretty big shoes to fill.
Hopefully someone who can pull off a more convincing gravely voice.
"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!Hey, gravel voice was awesome. Much better than the "obviously just a broodier Bruce Wayne" voice.

Yeah, the Batman/Superman movie is Man of Steel 2. With Batman. It's still the sequel to MOS.
