The league added the laser cannon after the Thanagarian invasion, where it would've really helped.
The last hurrah? Nah, I'd do it again.Otherwise they wouldn't have needed to use the watchtower as a giant batarang.
"War without fire is like sausages without mustard." - Jean Juvénal des UrsinsWonder if it will be a space station or a mountain fortress as the HQ.
i hope space station. because space stations are cool.
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.If I were deciding where the Justice League would set up shop, I'd prefer a terrestrial base. I don't think I'm comfortable with the sorts of connotations the Watchtower could stir up in people, with it having the League literally above all of humanity, with a nuclear arsenal that would give Castro pause. So unless I was actively doing a story where that would come up, I think I'd prefer something like the Hall of Justice.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the Greati remember when Amanda Waller called out Batman and the rest of the JLI about that in Justice League Unlimited.
"We propose a threat?! You've got a giant space station floating over our heads with a laser weapon pointing down. In another world, six of you overthrew the government and assassinated the President!"
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.Right, and part of the whole discussion is that in Justice League Superman was doing something to cause legitimate worry and distrust, it isn't the mere fact of existing. Waller may have taken things too far on her side, but her argument with Superman is part of what caused him to realize he had gone down a wrong path himself.
Cadmus in JL generally refers to it less as them being wary of the League just because a bunch of them overthrew the government in another universe, but because those events made them wake up to how dangerous the mere existence of people like Superman (not to mention a whole league of people like them) can pose if unchecked. This is especially pronounced in characters like Eiling, who represented an ideology Waller initially agreed with before leaving behin when everything went to shit.
Likewise, while the world at large forgave Superman for being under Darkseid's control, it was one of the things that made them realize they need to be prepared to fight him should they inevitably have to. Cadmus' distrust and actions against the league didn't start when the League started doing gray stuff, as much as the gray stuff started causing them to be more direct (at Luthor's manipulation).

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Under that idea, Cadmus as a concept started the instant Luthor started experimenting with ways to match Superman in power and strength in the first season of S:TAS. Superman's brainwashing in "Legacy" revealed that there were already some contingency plans in place, from the Kryptonite gas bomb and the red sunlight jail cells. But that event tipped the scale, which was explained as the origin of projects that created Galatea and Doomsday, and after that it was practically a cold war arms race, the Justice League started recruiting more members and Cadmus being desperate to have some heavy hitters on their side.
What ever happened to General Hulk? He gave himself super powers and count some Badass Normals and then sauntered off when the irony was pointed out to him.
He was never in the show again.

IIRC, Hamilton at least started working to stop Superman after he was brainwashed, but I can't remember exactly when Cadmus themselves were said to have started (if at all). The impression I think was that they were around for a long time but started stepping up their actions recently.
Cadmus was behind raising the Royal Flush gang, so depending on the timeframe of the DCAU they could have been around before Superman was even a thing. The DCAU wiki says they were behind Volcana too, but I never saw her original episode so I dunno.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Yeah there was a whole government conspiracy behind that where Volcana ran and Superman stumbled onto a secret project.
It's amazing how this all lined up for the show without prior planning. Like Rv B
Stand Fast, Stand Strong, Stand TogetherThe absolute brilliant bit is Brainiac's second appearance in S:TAS ended up being a thread ignored for 8 years until the climax of the Cadmus arc.
Cadmus as an Anti-Justice League organization was relatively new, but it could easily have had roots into various meta-human research projects (including the otherwise benign Star Labs) and may not have been called Cadmus back then.
So I got my mom (who totally doesn't read comics) to watch Man of Steel last night and she loved it!
Said it was the best Superman movie she's seen and also the most realistic.
And she was totally cool with the whole Supes killing Zod thing. She agreed that it was the best course of action since Zod established that either Supes will kill Zod or he will kill Supes.
I'm still a little disappointed that they didn't refer back to BTAS in the same way they did STAS, but then that was when the Bat-Embargo was in full swing. And the more I think about it, there wasn't all that much to adapt in a universal sense in the first place (since so much of Batman's stuff is Gotham specific). A HARDAC episode would've been awesome, but I figure it might've ultimately been around the same as the Eclipso episode, so meh.
Also, I wish they would've had a Justice League Mxyzptlk episode.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. No Bat-Embargo, probably would have meant the last episode of JLU would have had Superman, Batman, Luthor *and* the Joker all fighting together, which could have been all kinds of awesome.
And at the end:
Batman: "Okay. All of you get a five-minute start, then."
Joker: "Do I?!"
Batman: (onepunches him out).
Superman: "All of you but him."
Killer Frost: "Eh, we're alright with that..."
Bat-Embargo?
My various fanfics.Yeah, for some stupid reason, if a Batman character was appearing in a movie, the cartoons couldn't feature that character. Yet another example of how Time/Warner seems to resemble Westeros, if you get my drift.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the Great^^ A situation referred to by fans where after a certain point Justice League was unable to use Batman-centric characters outside of Batman himself. The reason was because of Teen Titans. The Dark Knight Saga and especially The Batman being contemporary shows with different continuities, and they didn't want to have a bunch of different versions of the same characters running around. This is why Joker doesn't show up again after "Wild Cards" and Ras Al Ghul was veto'd for some potential stories, and also why Nightwing, Robin, Batgirl, etc are never showcased.
It's might as well, Bruce Timm himself said that it forced the team to dig deeper into the DC archives to find more obscure characters to highlight instead of just going with the old standbys.
And it makes sense that continuity would stream mostly from STAS rather than BTAS, cause Justice League was built mostly on the foundations that were established by STAS with regards to there being more superheroes in the world. If BTAS had a Green Arrow showcase episode like STAS had one for The Flash and Green Lantern, then they would have more to go off of.

It was honestly a shame. The JL/Batman Beyond design for Joker was easily my favorite of the three.
"Urge to thump... rising." -FighteerHenry Cavill and Amy Adams do the ice bucket challenge. A rather funny escalation, but also a clear view of the new Superman costume in broad daylight. Much more of a sky blue (compared to the gray blue of the earlier one) and seems to have a stronger belt too.
In character? I guess why not. Now he needs to do it as Clark Kent! And Ben Affleck needs to do it as Batman!

Bruce would just give $100 and skip out on it.

No the nuclear laser cannon was on a different watchtower that was an all original league creation. The original that had a bunch of guns bolted on eventually got used as a giant batarang.
