Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Lois was good in her introductory scenes, such as when she shows the military and Clark that she's definitely clever, sees right past all their coverups, and whatever she doesn't know she's going to find out. Once the Kryptonians come, though, she ceases having any plot purpose and just become an inexplicably recurring bystander. Not to mention her suddenly kissing Sup's and making the worst kissing joke ever despite knowing him for barely a day.

Far better than Kidder and Bornsworth, not like that's saying too much.

I'm sure Kidder made the best of what she was given, but c'mon.

Kryptonite? Didn't it get used a lot in the past? If they want to do a green K death trap, hope it's better than the 1978 Superman film of tricking him into opening the box. Supes needs some Bat training stat!

Continuing the tradition of Lois Lane not really being very good at writing, I see.

The problem with portraying a good writer in a primarily visual medium is that you need a good writer. It's not like making a "good artist" in a comic book, since presumably your artists are good. Basically you'd have to hire a very reputable journalist to write some fake articles on the side.

And reputable journalists probably don't have the time to write fictional articles. They have to use the money for special effects.

...why would anyone name a part of a major city "New Troy"?

Why would somebody name a condom company "Trojan"? Why would somebody name any company "Vichy"? People make stupid decisions about what to name things sometimes.

I once saw a carpentry business called Floor Bangers.

Maybe in the DCCU Troy had been rebuilt following that war? That Troy wasn't the first one either.

Plus the fall of troy wasn't meant to be portrayed in a "those assholes deserved it," way. Troy was a great city, not necessarily morally superior or inferior to the Greeks. It was more a tragedy that they had to clash, and that the city had to burn.

I think the point was that naming a city Troy is like naming a boat Titanic.

It's a good, strong name. And it's always important to learn from the past and not repeat mistakes.

Hmmm, it looks like the destruction of Metropolis from Man of Steel will have genuine consequences for Superman.

P.S. I saw that brightened Supes' suit. Much better coloring. I approve.

Hmm. I would like to see Kal-El face real consequences for wrecking Metropolis. Mass murder, reckless endangerment, property damage, illegal immigration (natch - he IS an illegal alien, after all. Only slightly more alien than most), destruction of government and/or civil property and others that a competent lawyer could draw up. He goes to court, gets tried, gets convicted, gets jailed for the rest of his natural life.

Cut to closing credits.

Of course they won't do that because Kal-El is a "hero".

Wow, that got WAY more serious the more I wrote.

"Nope. Not after YOU took leaps right through occupied buildings! Request for clemency denied."

Because no Superhero has ever caused collateral damage ever before. Nope. Only "Kal-El." He went out of his way to murder all those people. Man of Steel Superman is worse than Hitler, confirmed.

Every OTHER superhero went out of their way to SAVE people or minimize damage. He did neither. We the jury find Kal-El of Krypton, alias Clark Kent, alias Superman, guilty.

It's the government's own fault for not deporting that innocent baby back into the icy outer space as soon as he arrived with evil designs on his alien little baby mind.

On the name thing? Kal-El is his name, Clark Kent is his alias, and Superman is what the public call him and he is quite happy to use as his title.

Bullshit. Clark Kent is the man, Superman is the alias.
