Currently trying to think of swordy abilities that do not appear to be stolen from Sailor Saturn. x_x

Oh no, I mean, I/d be happy to volunteer ideas for any NPC positions you need filled out, Katsura.:P

If there's one thing I have no shortage of is character ideas.

I'm ignorant about Magical Girl shows so I won't be able to tell the difference.

Here are short descriptions of the Captains I already finished:

1st Division's Captain: Captain-Commander Nakamura Hachiro

Popular among Gotei 13 for his affable personality and respectful attitude towards his subordinates. Delegates paper work to junior members of his division, opting to handle more dangerous duties himself or through 6th seats and above. Weaker members of his divisions are expected to train before being send to life-threathening situations. Apart from training and paper work they are expected to patrol inner Rukongai districts in order to protect citizens there and not lose touch with areas beyond Seireitei. There is a tension between him and the 2nd Division's Captain as patrol duties used to be traditionally reserved to Omnitsukido with which the 2nd Division is connected.

2nd Division's Captain: Captain Nanaya Shinsuke

In comparison to his main rival, the Captain-Commander, he is deficient in the field of personal charisma. He prefers to leave command of the 2nd Division's members not associated with Omnitsukido to his Vice-Captain and junior officers. Captain Nanaya is rigid and orthodox in his beliefs on how Gotei 13 should function, and he is against any association with Arrancars and Quincies, as he perceives them as natural enemies of Soul Society, whose elimination is the only-option, and with Humans, as he opposes using them as pawns in the fight against Soul Society's enemies. The forces under his command are responsible for stealth and scout missions, patrolling the outer and inner Rukongai districts (a duty which partially overlaps with the 1st Division's).

4th Division's Captain: Captain Akiyama Yori

The 4th Division's Captain, Akiyama Yori, is the former Captain Commander of the 1st Division who retired from his post to devote himself to support roles such as healing. Despite his willingness to help the injured and sick of the Gotei 13, he is kind of unpleasant person who thinks he knows better than others what his patients need, and often disregards feelings of his patients and subordinates. He is also a shrewd person who prefers to use non-spiritual forms of treatment if they will do, and resort to healing Kidou only if it is absolutely necessary, even if some of more conventional methods are less pleasant to the patients than the spells. He has also tendency to reserve as many resources as possible through his influence, which leads to a rivalry of him with other Captains.

6th Division's Captain: Captain Konoe Karasu.

Konoe Karasu is the 6th Division's Captain and an uncle to the head of one of Five Great Noble Houses of Soul Society. He has rejected suggestions of people who claimed that he should usurp that position himself due to inadequate capabilities of his nephew, honoring his right to be the head even if he is not nearly any strong as Karasu. The 6th Division's Captain serves both as commander of his division and advisor to his nephew, and he tries to balance his duty to Soul Society with his duty to his family. Along with the 1st , the 2nd and the 4th Divisions' Captains, he is the only four who have served during the last war against Quincies

7th Division's Captain: Yamihiro Daisuke

Yamihiro Daisuke, the 7th Division's Captain, is the most recent Captain to have been promoted to such position, and therefore most inexperienced member of the top of Gotei 13. He is eager to prove his usefulness and not disappoint the Captain-Commander who promoted him. Yamihiro strives to transform his division according to his vision, changing it into a formation that focuses on defending the Seireitei from outside intrusions.

9th Division's Captain: Satsuma Hiroshi

Satsuma Hiroshi is a Captain known for his hostility against Arrancar and Hollows even among other members of the Gotei 13. As he came from Inner Rukongai, little is known of his past as well as his reasons for hating denizens of Hueco Mundo so much. Rumors are spreading about unpleasant fate which some Arrancars who didn't die in direct battle met at his hands, as well as his close associations with the 2nd Division's Captain.

11th Division's Captain: Himura Takumi

The Captain of infamous 11th Division, Himura Takumi, seems on surface to be a contradiction. His division is notorious to have harbored people indulging in battles and violence, yet their contemporary leader is a refined man who is a patron of arts and fancies himself an artist himself. However, those who know him better know that loves bloodshed more than others, but is simply more subtle about it than mere thugs. Slaying scores of enemies with elegance, there is something unnerving about him, especially his smile of contentment all the time no matter how the fight is heated.

12th Division's Captain: Nishimura Hiraku

The Captain of 12th Division's and the head of Research and Development Bureau is, surprisingly, not the best of scientists in Soul Society, but his knack for organizing the work and fostering the cooperation in the R&D Bureau is what makes him invaluable, obviously aside from his fighting prowess. Pragmatic and efficient, he does not think solely about the good of his division but the good of whole Soul Society, which leads him into a conflict with the 4th Division's Captain. He believes that resources available should be distributed more fairly, and while healing others is a noble task, there are other equally important things that need to be funded.

All the captains are male? >_>

Well, I guess there's still 5 to go. XD

I have to admit, the captains all being male stood out to me as well. though I notice there are still a couple of open spots.

That being I said, I do otherwise like the line-up so far.

Clearly the other five are all female.

Are other posts are open. I haven't created any female Captains yet because of lack of ideas for now, though there are already two female Vice-Captains. I wish to avoid smurfette principle though. I guess I should work on female Captains from now on (and put them in important positions as well), feel free to send me your own suggestions.

PS. I think I'll be able to design at least two female Captains, but probably tomorrow. :)

The missing squads don't seem to have any notable duties or anything going for them, from the looks of things. Huh.

Well... Obligatory perfectionist for Squad 3. For no reason.

I can make up some extracanonical duties. And there is Kidou Corps left.

My main reason for not just putting this character in the kido corps and saying they could've gone in either branch... is the fact that their uniforms are face concealing and you hardly ever see them. Also doesn't solve my problem of 'what does this sword actually DO?'

... I refuse to not have a fancy sword. :<

Well, their leader and his second-in-charge did not wear face concealing uniforms. It's likely that mooks wear them.

So... what, Kido Corps, 3rd/4th in command? Attached to the Gotei 13 as a kido specialist? Clearly still uses their sword, but probably mostly because it has the right type.

I can approve of such concept. :)

No, five great noble houses. Their original number. As a trivia, I'll use the names of top five noble houses in Japan (not in terms of power, but status. Tokugawas were not technically aristocracy, yet they had most of power in Japan)

...Seem to have settled on that "weak but smart" Arrancar idea. Drawing her up right now, so hopefully that'll help get the creative juices flowing.

Definitely a Hollow.

My character will draw inspiration from Jorōgumo and Slenderman.

So...I think thorn covered remotely manipulated vines for a Shikai's ability? But I'm not sure whether to have them spring from the weapon or be planted in the ground/other surfaces to activate them later, although the latter probably wouldn't work while flying...

Thinking a short, bishonen-y type of character as a Shinigami...trying to figure out personality and some other stuff though.

I'm marathoning Samurai Champloo currently, and after exposure to gambling scene and I'm thinking of gambling themed NPC. But it's a vague concept at the being.

Oh, right, I also have a shikai and (eventual) bankai idea. No names for them, yet, but...

Shikai: Looks like this charming thing.◊ Can store a Hado spell indefinitely, though the upper limit on power is based on the character's (basically, if she can't cast it without the incantation, it can't be stored). Regardless of whether it can be stored or not, spells can be channelled through it to basically fire inside of a person's body.

Bankai: Well... consider it to be kido armour and amplification for the power of hado stuff. Basically... Powered Armour. Made of magic. Well, not magic, but you get what I mean...

Actually, reading some of the ideas above led me on a google romp, and I'm leaning now towards an idea inspired by the Kuchisake-Onna for a hollow character. Notably a male character (As male as any pre-arrancar hollow ever is).

I think I will break the pattern with the other Hollow players and base my Arrancar's released state on a feathered serpent rather than a youkai. ...Although mostly that's because I'm weird and just want to run with the whole Mexico thing.

Think I'm getting there with her, but... Still need to sort out my thoughts into some coherent order, ahah. >.> But we'll see how things turn out.

Yo, unbelievably Im up to date for bleach.....thus I would express interest in this. I've already got two espadas on the drawing board.
