[up]Any good points that Son of Batman had are negated by the fact that Talia raped Batman.

Not much to sat about War, I pretty much agree with everybody else. Generic Darkseid, too many jerks.. It would make sense at least if they turned only Superman or only Shazam into jerk, to have only one The Cape on the team.

The rape was handled better in Batman and Son. Bats is actually really upset about it and wants nothing to do with Talia. They don't randomly get together. Hell they end up as mortal enemies.

[up][up] About that War? Pretty much. I could add that whole movie mostly feels like generic Avengers knock-off.

About Son of Batman? I could mention things like Damien being stabbed through the arm and walking trough rest of the movie as if nothing happened AKA moment my Willing Suspension of Disbelief gave up. But really what could possibly be worse that casually stating that Batman was raped but its OK because it wasnt all that bad. If this was about woman this movie would never be made.

I know that i've said this a few times before, but after making a brief mention of this movie in a statement about "Son of Batman" (a movie that i still think is good) and impulsively looking up a bio for this movie's version of Green Lantern, i feel the need to say it again.

Superman, Shazzam and Green Lantern are complete jerks. Seriously, nothing about them makes them likable: Superman and GL are both arrogant idiots who think that they have the power to handle any situation alone with no plan of any kind, to the point where they are easy to take down because of it. And Shazzam, he was a jerk, a thief and a brat, nuff said.

The others i liked okay; Batman was still the dark, brooding, serious genius with a heart of gold that he's always been, Flash and Cyborg were both likable guys and Wonder Woman seemed pretty good herself. I just wish they could have made Superman, Green Lantern and Shazzam less detestable. This movie could have been DC's animated answer to Marvel's Live-Action Avengers. And the ending, oiy! At the end of the Justice League series premiere three-parter, all of the members were on good terms with each other and gladly accepted the idea of staying together as a team, especially Superman (unlike this movie's Superman, who openly said that they were not a team) and Green Lantern (granted, it's a different Green Lantern than Hal Jordan, but still, Stewart had as much on his plate as Jordan and still agreed to the team-up).

Also, i still don't know why Wonder Woman would want to be in a relationship with Superman, what has he done to make her think he's boyfriend material? He's a jerk and admiring him for his muscles and good looks goes against everything she stands for as an Amazon (A culture that's all about Girl Power and anti-Muscle-men).

Hippolyta fell in love with Theseus in some versions. In Marvel she slept with Hercules. Like mother like daughter.

Though depending on the retelling Theseus is sometimes depicted as a scrawny-for-ancient-Greece Guile Hero.

Looking back on this movie after a while, I won't say it's terrible, just that it feels really shallow. I agree mostly with what people are saying about the charcterizations, but Superman aside I don't think they were that bad. Hal could have really used some toning down, and Billy could have been more innocent.

I actually kind of like this film's version of Wonder Woman, because I think it's sort of cute, but I will agree that it's not what WW is really supposed to be. Her hooking up with Supes is still a really dumb, contrived idea for the same reasons that Storm and Black Panther hooking up was really stupid, IMO. The WW movie from before got her right already I think, a nice balance of character. Bats, Flash and Cyborg were fine too.

On one hand, I'm kind of glad Aquaman wasn't in this, because they might have really screwed him up, but I'm also curious about what he would have been like. Worst case, he would have been a really snobby entitled royal type also vying for leadership. On the other hand, he could have also turned out as level headed as the better characters in this and been really awesome. I still would like to see an Aquaman animated movie.

That's amazing, considering he was one of the central antagonists.

No, I mean I just really didn't like Flashpoint Aquaman.

Seriously though, I did forget about Flashpoint Aquaman, and he isn't the "real" Aquaman I want a story to be told around anyway. I want the Aquaman who is super devoted to his wife and also good guy, thanks.

Saw this for the first time yesterday. I actually liked it. I mean yeah, Green Lantern was a total dude-bro and Superman wasn't The Cape, but I liked that the heroes were flawed. The movie takes place early in all of their careers so it makes sense that they are all rough around the edges.
