Here's the thread for the Anime of Hiromu Arakawa's Silver Spoon.
Please keep all spoilers from the manga out of this thread, or if you absolutely must mention something, spoiler-tag and flag it.
If you want to discuss the manga, the thread for that is here. Discussion comparing the way something was handled in the anime with how it was handled in the manga can go in either thread, depending on where you think it fits better.

...the metaphor is that raising animals is compared to raising kids. Whenever the characters talk about animals they're also talking about their own families.
Sorry, I meant what I quoted.
Check out my fanfiction!I remain amused that Shingo is voiced by, well, Kamina. Always the aniki, huh?
The owner of this account is temporarily unavailable. Please leave your number and call again later.I noticed that too, as did Crunchyroll since they adapted it as "Bro".
I feel sorry for Hachicken, but happy for him that he's adapting to agriculture life and I like his name for the cow/pig, Beef-Bowl and Pork-Bowl I also liked it when he was compared to a horse and I loled when the family resemblance

In an anime, I'll be the Tsundere Dark Magical Girl who likes purple MY own profile is actually HERE!Episode 9. In which there's pork.
Small CG car is conspicuous. Well, that's not new.
The average anime character has about 5% body fat, outliers aside.
Is it even possible to lose that much weight? Also, it has to have been in two or three weeks, considering Hachi met her during the break. She's really tiny now.
Compared to that, the rooster didn't change at all. Instantly recognisable.
There's always someone who's an expert at whatever comes up, usually because their family specialises in it.
So, why would the stall owners be unhappy about people who eat a lot? Whenever I've worked at a stall, that was a good thing. Then again, it depends on if you're doing it just to serve people, or to make money from it.
DUCKS! *cough*
Shortest vegetarian stint ever.
Temporary weight change is temporary. "Nothing surprises me anymore."
I love the moral of this. "It tastes good, so it's okay to eat animals."

Check out my fanfiction!Ep 10. Where there's smoked cheese nyoro~n!
This episode's last words are how I feel about this episode...which was probably the point.
Butadon, you shall always be a part of us! <pats stomach>

Episode 10. In which Hashi takes proper farewell of Pork Bowl.
Well, that's what the title says, anyway.
The beginning conversation is pretty much where they left off in the previous one. Throw an unknown into a bunch of knowns, and you'll see how much of that was actually as known as you thought it was.
Misunderstandings can have better bases...
"Don't tell anyone!" Didn't he tell half the class already?
And it was cleared up pretty immediately. Because it had gone up to the teachers.
"Cheese." *ding* I actually liked Mayu in this episode. Well, not that I dislike her, but she's probably the second best character here.
It really shows how he's grown when Tama makes a friendly offer to help him for only a tiny bit, and then he actually realises he's being conned.
"Girl loves you when you have money; guys love you when you have meat." So true.
His plastered hands reminds me of when people first start using resin/glue in handball. You really need to tape your fingers in the beginning, or you'll tear off skin.
Yeah, bittersweet is the word for the episode.

Check out my fanfiction!Episode 11. In which there's Bacon.
"I will evaluate the compatibility of fermented food proucts with processed meat. It's after work hours." Nice teacher. Sounds like one of mine.
Smoked cheese can brighten anyone's day. No wonder Churuya is like she is.
I understand the feeling of not wanting to have anything to do with his parents.
Soon he can start a restaurant with everything he's getting...
That principal really is a wise old fool. Well, that was apparent since before, but he looks after his students.
The confession scene was kinda funny. And obvious. She was cute, too.
No reactions on the home-sent bacon.
I thought Mayu made perfect sense. A classic case of not finding the right words she wants to use, but finding enough words to explain it so that people understand. Good speech from her.
I found it funny when they were talking about not naming them this time around, and then he rejects that and names it Bacon. I wonder why the teacher seems to object to that. I mean, he did handle it pretty well last time. It would most likely be easier now that he knows everything. And he named the piglet knowing that.
Also, it's odd for them to complain about making them unable to eat pork. How much trouble did they have eating that bacon?
Check out my fanfiction!Marvelous show! Can't wait for it to get a second season.
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything. So, early next year, then?
Check out my fanfiction!Wait, that was the last episode? *checks* Woah, it is. Well, it was certainly an interesting place to end it.
Gotta say, the principal's speech saying it's perfectly alright to run away made me think of Evangelion.
I'm not sure how closely the anine hews to the manga, but what's clear to me is that show displays a familiarity with and a passion for the farm - which makes sense, given the author's background. It's also not afraid to show some of the ethical dilemnas involved.
liked it, Ihope it gets another season. wait it is. Maybe I should start reading the manga too...

Nyoro~n... :3
x5 They cut out Hachiken's tsukkomi in the piglet scene.
"You'd better take responsibility if none of us can eat pork anymore!"
"Alright I get it, I get it! I'll give you guys the rest of my bacon!"
"YESSSSSSS!!"
"NONE OF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS EATING PORK!!!"
Give the God Eater game thread some love!So...who's ready for Season II?
Noooo! I'm really looking forward to it.

Poor Hachiken, worrying so much and being shut out of things. And indeed, Mikage is certainly someone that while friendly seems to be quite private about her stuff and how she truly feels
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.Season 2, episode 1. In which Hachi is worried.
Must be easy getting to the next job if you're dragged. No need for walking.
"So that's how you fake it." Sounds like just about any show of the sort I've seen.
Step one: Get as good of a specimen as you can.
Step two: Fake what's lacking.
Step three: Pretend there's only step one.
It's always so comforting when the teacher singles out a student to give luck to for studying. It does, however, signify a somewhat closer teacher-student relationship than what you normally find.
Funny how everyone thinks Mikage will become the club vice prez, aside from herself. Spoiler: It's Hachi.
When people say it's nothing... Also illustrates how what the third years said about her is true.
Headtree. Some people just have great timing.
How to make awkward bathroom scenes even more awkward.
Those players are so easily motivated...
Check out my fanfiction!Actually in this case, its less about signifying a close student-teacher relationship and more of how outstandingly bad Tokiwa's results are (at least outside his speciality area).
Which is exactly what I implied in the first sentence you quoted.
Check out my fanfiction! The point being that you wouldn't normally be comfortable singling someone out in a joking manner like that no matter how bad they were unless you were close.
Episode 2: PUPPYYYY~
That wasn't even a metaphor.
Check out my fanfiction!
