Re posted from the Pacific Rim Page thread.

Apparently, Ron Perlman tweeted that at the end of Pacific Rim after the credits there will be a "Big Surprise" BIG.

Guess who re-tweeted it?

the Godzilla 2014 movie page.

...............No, they didn't!

Pacific Rim is about the triumph of mankind. Godzilla has shifted over the years to focusing on the triumph of Godzilla (barring GINO which was about the triumph of mankind over Godzilla). One side would end up getting quite badly shafted whatever the outcome.

I don't think that Pacific Rim has a deeper analogy then "Isn't it awesome when THIS happens?" but Godzilla always wins by default.

Do not bring up King Kong. That was silly and contentious. : P

Also, Godzilla still won in all of those save "vs. Mothra."

The role of Godzilla has changed over time. When last we saw him, he was an incredibly destructive genie in a bottle who chased his foes all the way from the Antarctic to Japan and wrecking everything in his way. We shall see if the King's role changes once again.

Of course he could. Mechanical giants are no strange thing to him.

Wasn't there one that somehow reprogrammed it's size?

Only because Ultraman was popular at the time. [lol]

Godzilla could wipe right through most Jaegers IMHO. They lack the Unobtainium armoring and such necessary to wrangle with him. Mechagodzilla brought to bear more firepower then all the active Jaegers put together and Godzilla shrugged it off.

Plus while Jaegers begin losing limbs and suffering systems damage Godzilla keeps regenerating.

Isn't Godzilla only at most 2/3 the size of the Jaegers though?

Heisei Godzilla stands at 80m tall. Gipsy Danger is 79m. They're essentially the same height.

Although that iteration of Godzilla is estimated 50,000 tons while Gipsy Danger only weighs in at 1,980.

Not that it matters much. Godzilla has defeated opponents bigger then him before, like Biollante.
