Hey, Des, in your bio, you said your character had picked up some Steel magic? Didn't Plum say there was no steel magic?

It's kind of funny. Sufficiently advanced stupidity is like sufficiently advanced science; eventually, you find something you can't solve.

Woops. Though, which magic does the Steel kingdom use?

It doesn't; if you want to find a place where magic is a dead art, Ivenco's the place.

Done, finally.

Fun Fact: Riktor's last name was intended to be "Svenfjor," (Sven-fyour), a play on "Seven Figure," because of his family's wealth.

Additional Fun Fact: Both of Riktor's pokemon are named after legendary swords. Merodach, the sword that chooses kings, and Peleus, a sword that makes its owner successful during a hunt.

Slightly Less Fun Fact: Riktor is partially based upon Gilgamesh from the Nasuverse, and partially upon the concept of a Miranda Lawson (Mass Effect) who didn't rebel against her father's desire for a dynasty.

Sad Fact: I need a life.

  • Name: Riktor Tiberius, "Lord Constantine"
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: 21
  • Appearance: Owing to careful grooming on his part, and even more careful breeding, on his grandparents' parts, Riktor, or "Lord Constantine," as he styles himself, is very attractive, with golden hair, possibly teased into spikes, depending upon the occasion, and sky-blue eyes, though whether it's a matter of handsomeness or beauty has sparked more than a few arguments with his siblings. He favors rich garments, such as silks, furs, and exotic hides, but typically, given the dangerous nature of the quest, he garbs himself in a highly polished set of steel armor, trimmed with Arcanine fur, with a crimson cape (similarly trimmed) draped across his shoulders.
  • Personality: Riktor typically puts on an air of polite superiority, smiling benevolently, speaking with a kind voice just shy of patronizing. However, he's easily irritated, and his ire, even over small things, can last a very long time. Trust and respect are reserved for a small number of people, and only those rare few whom he is willing to consider equals.
  • History: Much of Riktor's arrogance comes from his upbringing. Being the latest in a family whose members all "own" one form or another of the Gibble family, Riktor grew up in the lap of luxury, drinking the wealth of their collective hoards like mother's milk. More so than his siblings, in fact (a point of great tension among them), because of what his family had planned. His maternal grandparents, greedy and full of avarice, arranged for his parents to be wed for the sole purpose of producing an "ideal" child to wed into a royal bloodline, and, from age three, at which point they could reasonably estimate his adult appearance, had him raised to instill a sense of entitlement, a blazing ambition, and an unshakable belief in his 'destiny'. Trained in the arts of battle, as well as gentler crafts, such as music, poetry, and cooking (the better to snare a future wife, as his grandmother put it).
Riktor’s motivation for legend hunting is in keeping with his ambitions; he desires power, and the creatures of legend are powerful indeed. And, failing that, the journey itself should provide numerous opportunities to make his current companions strong enough to suffice.
  • Skills: Being raised to present the best possible candidate as a suitor, Riktor has trained with a blade from a young age, favoring rapiers or bastard swords, but able to use most weapons. Just don't ask him to touch an axe. He'd rather burn the handle and use the blade to chop vegetables that swing it in battle. He has skill with ice magic, his mother deciding that it was the most romantic of the magic types (his grandmother had pushed for grass, and his father for electricity), and he can play a lyre or a violin, can waltz with the best of the gentry, and can cook almost anything you might find at a high-end function... though that said, he can make a fine Stantler stew, too, if that's all you peasants have available.
  • Pokémon:
  • Pokémon's Name: Merodach
    • Pokémon's Species: Gabite
    • Pokémon's Ability: Sand veil
    • History/Biography: Merodach is Riktor’s first choice in a most fights. Having been raised side by side, Merodach oozes arrogance similar to his partner, with an ill temper and a tendency to think of others as less people with purposes of their own than obstacles to be overcome. Merodach fully understands his partner’s motivations, and wholeheartedly supports his mission, seeing it as a test of himself, and the bond they share, though he has trouble expressing this for obvious reasons.
  • Pokémon's Name: Peleus
    • Pokémon's Species: Vulpix
    • Pokémon's Ability: Flash fire
    • History/Biography: Where Merodach relates to Riktor as a partner, Peleus is undoubtedly a pet. Where Merodach has Riktor’s respect, she has his adoration, and he dotes upon her as one might expect. She and Merodach hold very different views of the world, with her preferring to stay where she is and be comfortable, rather than gallivanting around, getting into all kinds of messes. There’s little in the way of conflict between the two, however, as each puts Riktor first, as they were intended to. Peleus’s desires are simpler than Merodach’s, desiring most of all to make Riktor happy. This said, she’s as much a fighter as any, having been selected primarily as an answer to Merodach’s weakness to ice, and she relishes any opportunity to please Riktor.

  • Name: Juliana "Jill" Buingon Paolini
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: 22
  • Appearance: Like this
  • Personality: Energetic.
  • History: Always teased as a child because her mother was a somewhat popular dancer of a certain type, and her father was a writer of certain materials. She decided to run away from her home in Ivenco at fifteen to live in some somewhat remote woods in Feurach away from everyone, after stealing a few axes and shovels from the garage and some food from the kitchen. Right away, she and her aron were attacked by g-g-g-ghosts just a ways into the treeline, and were getting beaten up pretty badly until a kangaskhan came out of nowhere and Megaton Punched the shit out of the thing. After that, the three of them made a living in the woods, and she learned how to survive. They were mostly self sufficient, but in order to get some things you could only buy from society, she started spending part of every day cutting down trees, and every few weeks they would have Rocky spend a day dragging them down to a lumber yard while wearing a false moustache to conceal their identities. This also helps for when they go on an errand for some of the quirkier residents of the woods.
  • Skills: General survival skills, so she knows which berries are food and which are Taco-Bell-in-a-Sphere, can fish in lakes and rivers alright, get around without a compass, etc. Also woodcarving. She is trained in woodcutting and digging, and is very strong because of that, with great skill with most gardening work tools. Good at making pancakes, flapjacks, bacon, eggs, homemade maple syrup, moonshine, and log cabins. She knows grass magic, trained after finding out she had a knack for it and getting lessons from a kinda crazy Lilligant, allowing her to harden plant matter, heal/grow plants, and mix up all sorts of concoctions using herbs and stuff. She's utilized a form of the basic pokemon containment magic to make a sort of portable shed, and can pull out axes, shovels, pickaxes, shears, and other simple tools from there.
  • Pokémon:
    • Pokémon's Name: Rocky
      • Pokémon's Species: Lairon
      • Appearance: Wears a black beanie.
      • Pokémon's Ability: Sturdy
      • History/Biography: A pet aron she received when she was fourteen, they've been together ever since.
    • Pokémon's Name: Sheila
      • Pokémon's Species: Kangaskhan
      • Appearance: Has a cowboy hat.
      • Pokémon's Ability: Scrappy
      • History/Biography: A kangaskhan that was outcast by the others for being barren, she shortly thereafter found Jill and Rocky, living with them in the woods.
  • And here's a song, since all the cool kids are doing it and I love me some peer pressure.

Dragon - Your character's alright, but your appearance section seems to cut off mid-sentence....

Nman - Your character's accepted. I must note though...

Until he evolved, Rocky would sleep in her pouch.

  • Name: Cassius Secatus
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: 52
  • Appearance: Every coin has two sides...
  • Personality: Cassius is a calm, collected and peaceful man, who is mostly interested in obtaining new knowledge and insights. It is very rare to see him angry and it is even rarer to see him actually fight, as he prefers a peaceful solution and will only resort to violence, should all other methods have failed or should the wellbeing of anyone he cares about be in danger. He likes sharing his wisdom with others, often quoting from a variety of sources, although he often is the only one, who can make heads or tails of those quotes. He doesn't mind however and will happily continue on without explaining it. Cassius believes, that an issue should be looked at from every possible angle, before making a descision. In his free time, he is often found reading.
  • History:In his younger days, Cassius had a normal childhood in the kingdom of Parsone. Born as the son of a carpenter, he never had much interest in continuing the family business, but rather in reading, so he studied and learned until one day he had made it as an astronomer. The study of the celestial bodies, especially the moon and its dark side made him see, that there is another side to all things, that is to be considered as well. To understand this duality, that is present in all things, Cassius decided, that he would seek out Giratina, so on the day he retired from work, he set out to find it. Maybe it would help him understand.
  • Skills: While he may be older, Cassius is still relatively agile and can use his walking staff quite well, should he have to defend himself. He is skilled in the art of Ghost type magic as well, which he uses mostly for illusions. Outside of battle, he is rather knowledgeable about herbs, mostly their medicinal purposes and he can use that knowledge to tend to minor to moderate injuries and other health-related problems.
  • Pokémon:
    • Pokémon's Name: Avidus
    • Pokémon's Species: Cofagrigus
    • Pokémon's Ability: Mummy
    • History/Biography: Avidus is Cassius' first Pokémon, having been given to him as a Yamask from his parents at the age of 10. Since then, the two have been together constantly, having become the best of friends. Despite his menacing appearance, he is actually almost as calm and friendly as Cassius, although a bit greedy.
    • Pokémon's Name: Clarea
    • Pokémon's Species: Litwick
    • Pokémon's Ability: Flame Body
    • History/Biography: While he was still an astronomer, there was one cold, rainy and gloomy night, in which Cassius was once again sitting at his desk, calculating the movement of the stars. In that night, a small Litwick had snuck into his room and had been easily spotted, since the room wasn't very well-lit. As the Litwick needed shelter from the rain and Cassius needed a source of light to continue with his work, the Litwick stayed and a bond between the two formed. She is a bit timid, but can get rather unpleasant if she's annoyed. She is rather self-conscious about her size, as she usually has to be lifted up to most places and will not take it well, should it be made fun of.
