YKTTW Ideas Splurge

Ok, I've had loads of YKTTW ideas but I just don't have enough time to sit down and write them all out in full, and I doubt I will do in the near future. I'd hoped to open them up to the public here (I tried asking what to do on the Ask The Tropers page and didn't get any helpful responses), so other people with more time on their hands can take care of them instead - I don't care about Getting Known, I just don't want my ideas to be wasted. But before I outpour all my suggestions, is this the right place to do it? If not, someone please direct me to the place that is right for it (please don't say 'your To-Do List' - the whole point is that I don't have enough time).

The only way to insure that your ideas come out the way you want them is to guide the YKTTW yourself. That's if they come out at all.

There's also the YKTTW Workstation Thread, though I can't say it's ever worked for me.

People aren't going to do work for you if they don't want to. The thing is they would have to themselves find the proposed trope interesting and appealing. I remember the question from Ask the Tropers and I think you were given reasonable ideas what to do.

What you can do is start the draft and leave it in the state you think will attract enough attention. That means having a working title, write at least reasonable Laconic and ideally few sentences about why you think it's tropeable. And you should have, say, two or three examples from fiction. Then add a tag Up For Grabs which means you give up being a trope sponsor and you don't have time to polish it yourself for launching.

I have myself adopted about two trope proposals that were abandoned and that I got launched, and now I'm doing it for about three more. That said, most tropers in YKTTW are working on their own proposals. That's all I can say about it. Hope this helps. cool

Regarding your post in a similar thread:

Judging from my experience, I'm almost certain nobody is going to pick it up here. If you want to give those proposals any chance, make a draft for them in YKTTW and mark them Up For Grabs.

Some of the ideas are tropes already (e.g. Improbable Aiming Skills) as you would've found out had you asked at Lost And Found. Some of them don't sound tropeworthy to my ears at all, but some might come through. Some of them were un-troped only recently: Badass Longhair is now disambiguation and there is a trope for samurai wearing ponytails. However listing only a work and no context of your example in some of your "drafts" doesn't make it clear at all what you mean.

I will holler to mods to lock up this thread also.
