They sound relatively obscure.
Complete guess, but maybe Night Head Genesis for the first.
The second sounds like maybe Kara No Kyoukai or perhaps Tsukihime. Of course Bakatsuki has pretty much all the light novels people have translated, so you might want to look there.

Many moons ago, I ran across what sounded like two AWESOME series. Unfortunately, I have since lost my bookmarks list, and cannot remember the names of either of the two. Any chance a random troper out there knows and is willing to help?
The first is about a highschool student who starts seeing nodes and flows of energy, then meets others like him, and gets dragged into stuff. It's a serious property, not a comedy.
The second is (I believe) about a certain class of people all of whom have red/blue, or anima/animus sides to their personalities, which also give them superpowers. I remember there was also an internet-performed translation into English of the light novels—possibly, it was just a light novel series, but it might have been a manga/anime first.
Who wants a mada fuggin' DOLLAR?!
