As we all know, raising the dead is a one way trip through the Moral Event Horizon, so Sailbad finally chose to be on the side of good here. As the Determinator he's clearly on his way to being acknowledged as captain.

I've been waiting for an episode where they go fishing using Sailbad for bait...

  • He was Sailbad the sinner,
  • Now he's some seamonster's dinner.
  • He was Sailbad the sinner man!

BTW: No complaints about the anachronistically modern clothing on the hobbit rogue.

What do you call tropes vu? That is when you suddenly say I've seen this exact show before in a different setting with different characters, but the tropes all match up.

In my case I see Sailbad as being exactly the same show as Firefly.

Doesn't remind me of any specific show but it does remind me a of a show type, not sure what you'd call it but the the main examples I can think of are Hercules The Legendary Journeys, Xena Warrior Princess and Legend Of The Seeker. Heroic Fantasy maybe?

Sort of a Traveller Free Trader trope where the ship itself is an important part of the setting.
