Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed.Thank god.
As I was saying earlier, I don't think this can really be illustrated by an image.
Pinball cleanup threadCould we do something with a graph? As in, "original show: 20 episodes; abridged version: 4 episodes"?
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!I was thinking BUPKIS, personally.
Moon◊That probably wouldn't work, as Abridged Series are almost always humorous, and there's really not much humor in a simple line graph.
Pinball cleanup threadNo, let's keep this imageless.
Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed.Or, we could have a collection of title screens of Abridged series, such as this one◊.
Or alternatively, a title card from the real show and one of the abridged version.

Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight! That wouldn't really illustrate anything about the trope.
Pinball cleanup threadNo, but it would at least show an example. In my opinion, clearly showing an example is better than leaving the page imageless.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Yes, I know that. That's why I said "in my opinion". I would still prefer an illustrative pic if somebody finds any, but imageless pages are just sad.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!I love images but "a bad image is better than no image" is not a good attitude. Unless the example somehow illustrates what the trope looks like, an image that is just an example is a bad image (that's, like, the definition of JAFAAC); and there is nothing inherently wrong with a page without a page image.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. No need to be patronizing, Rodney. Nobody wants bad images anywhere, we just have different opinions on what constitutes a "bad image".
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!I'm... not? I am never intentionally patronizing. Frequently Captain Obvious though.
How is "a picture of an example" not exactly JAFAAC?

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. While I see a fundamental ideological dissensus here, I agree that an image that illustrates nothing is not justified by it being an example.

This is just a really terrible image. First off, it illustrates nothing about the trope. Second, it looks terrible (the placing of the word "Abridged" is really poor). Third, it's pretty small. Finally, the caption adds nothing to the image.
I don't think we can really sum up the article in one image, though. I'd prefer to leave it without one.
