I loved how Sonicman kept getting Nipples's name wrong.

Think the other colored meteors will come into play soon?

The show will introduce Lyric rising from one of the meteorites and Eggman is coincidentally right there to see the birth and is enlisted to help him take over by collecting the other power meteors, seven of them, and there you have your Lyric AND your Chaos Emerald story in one!

Or

One of the meteors will give the Good Doctor some material to make Metal Sonic and the other meteors will contain the emeralds(or maybe those gem things in Rise of Lyric),leading to the heroes and Eggman+Metal trying to get them all be.Eggman will want them to power up Metal Sonic while Sonic and friends have to gather them so Eggman won't have them.

I forgot to mention, but the plot of last episode is not that original. A Sonic X comic did this a while back (issue 37), and in the process a panel has archieved some meme notoriety. You know, this one◊

I know, I know, is not the most original plot in the world, but still worth saying it.

I wanna say that Eggman's inconsistent comeback freaked Sonic out.

This episode lends a lot more credence to what I've been saying. Clearly, the Sonic Boom universe is some kind of horrible limbo world, and Sonic's only real joy in life is battling Eggman. In fact, "good vs. evil" morality seems to have been discarded by all the characters in favor of performing whatever actions net them the highest entertainment value. The way Eggman and Sonic act in this episode is almost like a really bad case of Cabin Fever from the eventless purgatory that is their lives.

Sheesh, this is the most nihilistic Sonic show...

It's really weird in that Eggman is basically the most important character in the setting. If he stops screwing around with everybody, they basically keel over from boredom or otherwise go nuts.

Yeah, and while he also tries to take over the world in the games (one step above island take-over, really), the games feel disconnected from each other, like he goes away for a while, then comes back bigger and better.

While here it's like he's trying to take over the world daily, and his attempts are good enough to keep Sonic mentally healthy. Plus Eggman's less stellar robots and repeat usage do give the impression he's trying to take over the world daily.

Yeah, the ending wasn't great. Only thing I liked about it is how Eggman's vigor returned. Besides that, it felt like a terrible moemnt to end it. Now we'll never see him take down eagle.

Hmm, I found today episode to be good, but with a weak ending.

I can relate to Sonic. Now now, while the nihilistic interpretation holds true, I also have those days where I have nothing to do and I become annoying to my friends. And Eggman feeling down, relatable.

The most relatable episode of Boom so far.

Also, I enjoyed the fact that Knuckles was showing his nature side, not bad Boom Crew.

I'm starting to wish the show would depict Sonic and friends living more productive lives. Can't they have jobs or social lives or anything? They just seem so bored all the time. It gets depressing to watch when you think about it too hard. The only time I can think of when they really did anything was Sticks getting the Awardy Award. We need more episodes like that, where the characters go out to social gatherings and stuff, not just lounge around.

Yeah, I agree. That's probably the weakest part of the premise: they don't really do much of anything other than screw around until Eggman shows up. They need to do more stuff in town.
