Sonic Boom - The new Sonic cartoon

I can agree that this was a pretty weak episode. But we did learn that the cast has its share of hobbies, with the exception of Sonic and probably Sticks. Amy has a load of hobbies, Tails has his engineering, and Knuckles' woodworking is a surprise considering he lifts a lot. An episode where those three contribute to the town's well-being and motivating Sonic into finding something to do besides fighting Eggman might help characterize the group that much more.

Is it just or did that self-portrait Amy was painting look kind of like a reference to Amy's usual design? Particularly her head.

Well, I gave my comment to Alan Denton, one of the writters, in twitter about the "meaningless relationship between the gang and Eggman". I said:

"So, Sonic and friends do nothing while Eggman is not around? That sounds kinda depressing."

He gave this comment:

"You're right, too. Their codependent relationship gets sadder the more ya think about it"

the only thing I said was "Hope to see Sonic out of his confort zone", and that it. A nice fellow Alan Denton is.

So that makes everything I've been saying canon, then? Wow, this really is the most nihilistic Sonic series.

At least Sonic X gave his gang a reason to fight Eggman and move around all the damn time... BECAUSE THERE'S NO TIME FOR RE-LAX-A-TION!!!

Well, so long as I've got the ear of the show's writer... here are some other TV show suggestions to go with Hedgehog Abbey:

• Breaking Egg
• House of Rings
• Game of Moto Bugs

Those are on the house, dude.

I would love to know what is the plot of Breaking Egg.

A drama based on Doctor Eggman, where they detail his tragic tale, and the real Eggman (please stand up) get sadder for himself not having that dramatic life?

Game of Moto Bugs is exactly the same as Game of Thrones, only all the clans and such are replaced with different races of Badniks.

House of rings: Someone stole all the rings to become invincible!

Yeah, remember that comic book issue that referenced all of Dr. Robotnik's other sidekicks? Imagine all of them in competition with one another.

But it's much less bleak than Game of Thrones because every death frees a captured animal.

...Until the animals also die, that is.

And then all the past Eggmen/robotniks meet.

Do like one of those scenes toward the end of Sonic Generations, but not with just Mike Pollock talking to himself, bleh.

So Sonic lives in Hell, basically. He's either off being annoyed by friends or annoyed by Eggman at break neck speed. That's a livin' Hell.

It'd be pretty funny if he did lurk around, tho.

On a side note, I kinda feel this episode didn't make good use of its premise. Like, it had a lot of potential but halfway it seemed to forget what it was trying to achieve? Kinda felt like two different episodes, not to mention that the subplot with Soar didn't actually seem to go anywhere... I kinda blame Status Quo Is God for that.

Whatever, they can't all be good. Good thing that when they are good, they are usually very good. So far, I still have hopes for the rest of the season.

I would actually welcome more Soar, hopefully teamed up with Shadow or Jet.
