I'm sure things will get worked out, anyway. That's what this thread is for!
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."Most of us here are here to help when needed.
Well, what we know about world background is that, ~12,000 years ago, space monsters were menacing the Earth until a planet was used as a bomb to wipe out the middle of the galaxy. It stopped the source* but didn't wipe them all out. Due to relativistic effects, the mecha involved in that is scheduled to return soon.
After this, for one reason or another, mecha proliferated, including several more Buster Machines to deal with the Space Monsters, and probably many, many more to wage petty war in and around the solar system. Towards the tail-end of the rapid technological advancement, presumably, the Buster Machine Corps was developed, and then—for one reason or another—Moonlight Butterfly. Probably, they wanted to cut humanity off from the hell that lurked outside more effectively than in Diebuster and reset tech at the same time.
Nowadays, technology has advanced once more to the point that interplanetary travel is beginning to be a possibility, and many old mecha are being dug up, including some in the Mediterranean. It seems that an invading alien force has located the Earth whilst running from something else, though, so it looks like these old mecha are going to be needed...
Now, I don't really know how the DC or Dinosaur Empire would come into things, and I do know that the Topless exist* , so it might be that the reason people've been using mecha so far are 'space monsters'.
Anyway, this might help.

Avatar SourceYay, filled-in backstory!
Filled-in backstory always helps, eh-heh.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."Hmm, something else I apparently forgot: recently, there was a war between humanity and alien space giants. So yeah.
Avatar SourceChanging tact then (Although I seriously think it would still be better if some players could be villains. Ah well, I hope we have some awesome villains on the way from the GM.)
New character, defenders of Justice, if allowed: The Beastector.◊ Er, it helps if anyone here has played Mischief Makers, but the issue here is that it is a transforming robot ala Super Sentai or Power Rangers. When it combines, all three of them pilot the Beastector, but when seperate they are all made to be ridden (One component is a motorcycle, another is a tank, and the third is a drill bird... thing). So, if they're half the time a mecha and the other 3 half just superpowered dudes on vehicles... does it work? I'm ok with having them always in mecha mode. Size issue yeah it's quite tiny for a mecha, about waist heigh I'm assuming of a generic huge one. I don't know if SRW has dealt with a problem for how the mecha vary in size?

Inspirational quote against powerful image of nature.I know SRW did have mecha that did gattai.
Ryusei Date was one of its pilots, namely the SRX.
And the size thing?
Inspirational quote against powerful image of nature.Um... Basically, in the SRW games (from a certain point on, at least), every unit is placed into a size category. Smaller units can dodge better, whilst larger units get an attack bonus against units smaller than them.
This was of course one of the many reasons why the human-sized Tekkaman Blade was a gamebreaker.
Also whilst combining mecha and their components are a staple of the series (Getter Robo is part of the holy trinity, after all), um... Not sure if I'd be happy letting that thing in particular in. Sorry.

Height: 51.2 meters
Weight: 388.8 tons
Why not? It can always stay in mecha mode.
Inspirational quote against powerful image of nature. So we're calling this Super Robot Wars T?
Me thinks we need to come up with an Awesome McCool name.

Super Robot Wars [letter] seems to be fairly standard for SRW stuff. Well, the letter usually stands for something, but I assume Moe might have something in mind for that.
Burn up, hurricane of justice! Is there any need for that, besides "I personally don't like it"?
"Yup. That tasted purple."@tachi
- You're right about that. I'm just wondering if it'll be T later on.
What Tachi said. And, um... I kind of thought it was obvious what the T stood for, ahahahah.*
You're so clever, Moerin.
Has anyone watched Shadow Chronicles? I only dig the SC-designed ships as I said before that they need a SRW.
Will there be pirates to fight with?
I doubt it.
Avatar SourceNo, no, no, no!
Don't crush my hopes and dreams.
We have alien squid invaders, space vampires, giant whale-noise-making eldritch abominations, dinosaurs, and giant robots. There is no room for pirates. D:
Avatar SourceWell, space pirates could be a thing, but, um, we'll see.
Also you forgot the mad scientists, Raineh! Since... Dr. Hell, for one thing, and the DC is mostly headed by mad scientists.
They fall under 'giant robots'. Giant robot science isn't sane science.
Avatar SourceWe have a ton of antagonists for both sides, eh-heh. If pirates are around I imagine they're pretty minor.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."I'm expecting pirates to be a minor faction. Kinda like a wake up call enemy, although I prefer the Vajra and Haydonites to be that.
But I'll let Moerin finalize on the enemies. I'm just wondering if we'll receive minor enemies. (Eg - Will Gundam characters confront their own enemies for a short time?)
That was the plan, but spending the past few days as a delirious, semi-coherent invalid kind of put a damper on that.
